Hey ladies!

We're currently waiting for an interview date from Cairo.. We would like the interview to be either early December or middle or late January since we both really like that John attends the interview with me.. We are thinking that if we get a date that John can't make it here to be with me on at the interview, we are going to reschedule... So I wanted to ask.. Is rescheduling the interview going to raise any kind of red flag? How to do it.. Just email the embassy and tell the the date(s) we would like the interview to be on and see if it's available? Do we have to state the reasons why we would like to reschedule our interview (in case we reschedule)? Should I get any kind of statement from them first that they will allow my fiance to attend the interview with me?

Also, in case we decide that I attend the interview by myself (which most likely won't happen) should I inform them that my fiance is coming to Cairo right after my interview to fly back together..?

I would really like your opinions about this.. Has any of you rescheduled their interviews or attended the interview with their SO? How did it go?

Aya...long time. Sorry I haven't been around but work and home has been very crazy these days. I am sending you a PM.

As Amanda stated, I would not reschedule if you can help it. I think they will allow him at the interview but they may ask him to wait outside and then call him up to the window with you. I would ask them and see if this has changed at all....since they change their rules all the time without notice! :P

As for telling them you will fly home with your fiance, they will tell you please do not plan to do this as its not guarenteed after interview how long the VISA will take. I had a similiar conversation 2 yrs ago before H's interview with a friend that works at the embassy. They do not recommend it. In my opinion, the way that Cairo is....you never know how long your AP will be. They told us 1 week and it was over 15 days before H got his visa sent to him. There are others that are waiting 8 months tho...so keep that in mind. God willing that is not your case but be prepared for a wait after interview.

Good luck babes...(F)

For those of you who came in on K3s, how long did it take for your husband to show up in the ICE database? We tried to get him an ID card at the department of motor vehicles just after he got here (about a week) and he was not in the database then, they told us to call back in two weeks. So we did that, they said he's still not in there and we need to take a copy if your visa/I-94 and do a physical check, call back in 45 days. So we're about at the end of that and need to call and check on it... But now we have another company needing to verify his immigrant status through ICE again (for a different reason) and I am just wondering how long it's going to take for THEM. He's been here since September 18th, so it's been almost two months now.

Well after 6 days, I heard from him, it was bitter/sweet, mainly bitter on his side. Seems to be all my fault he has not worked in 2 years, and Im the reason why he is now illegal in France. Im filing for divorce, and sending him the papers certified mail, maybe he will sign the wavier and have notarized at embassy, maybe not, we will see.

For today, Im packing up all pics of us, but keeping all paperwork till divorce is final. After that, no need to keep it. I did try to reach out to him to keep now and future on neutral terms, so its up to him.

I know I dont belong on VJ anymore, no in process petition, or a happy ending here for me, but Im comfortable here. Feels like family all over the world here on VJ. Thank you all for your PM and just being true and caring people.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

I think it's good to have people on board who are at all stages of the process and in all stages of relationships, from the good to the bad. Plus, this place is addictive. Once you check in, there's no checking out.
