Wow. Eating popcorn with you Jackie. :pop:

This is a first for me on VJ- haven't seen anything like it since I have been here.

It is sad- this is a place for support. Jealousy, rage and selfishness have no place being here.

Hope the movie has a good ending.

Baj

ah. the longing....

Beth I was walking home tonight from school and stopped in a store and heard this song on the radio there. It reminded me of you and I thought to post it for you. (L)

Love this song Olivia! Also loved your new webpage!!! Congrats sweetie!!

Thanks! :luv:

You know I am fixin to vent...It has been over 2 months since we had the interview. I know others have waited longer and I do understand this. But none the less it does make me angry. I do not understand how other cases are different. It is the same damn procoess. I think what is good for one should be good for all. Hey I am glad it took some of you 4 days or 3 or even 2 weeks. Really....But I think its not right. Every flippin week its the same ol #######. I was just told today by DOS it could take 3 months, 6 months, she said we even have some for 3 years.....WHY? Why so dang long? My husband is clean and clear been in school all his adult life. Its been a month and the embassy still has not contacted my senator. I think I would have been ok if she would have never said no AP and it will be 2 weeks..and now 2 months later and AP..This no one knows ####### is just that #######. You would seriously think they would do these damn visa in order..People who applied after us got it months before us? Yesterday was our one year of being married spent it working, and being depressed. That goes to say I worked 2 jobs, paid my taxes, I don't ask no one for help, I do everything on my own. I don't rob banks, or sell drugs. And another thing I am sorry Paris Heart..really I want to cry for you as well. Try so hard to do things right and spend so much heart and soul in a relationship and at the end of this journey its lonley, and depressing. Wake up daily prayin to God to help you. I am wondering when is a good time to jump off a bridge and call it a year..

Have a seat over here on the waiting couch with me B. (F)

couch.jpg

B&S, did they give your husband a slip? I mean a AP or AR slip when interview was over? We were handed nothing, we walked out holding the knife handle of the knife they inbedded in our hearts.

How are you doing today Beth?

Nothing new here. Got a reply from the Embassy today when I asked about a time frame. They called me Sir and gave me an ambigious answer.

Hi Sweetie, Im doing a bit better today, yesterday everything came pouring our of me, anger, frustration, confusion, hurt, and etc.

My states senators office has stepped in, so who knows what will happen, i will call DOS next week to see if anything new, so in meanwhile, we'll keep each other and others company, HUH? Im whip something up to munch on during the wait. Thanks for the song Baby girl, its wonderful.

Hugs

Beth

Sounds like a plan. It took us over two years just to get to our interview as well. I really hope it doesn't take more than that to get his visa. I heard another song today that applied to our situation but it's been a long day and I already forgot it.

Hi People. I know, I know, Pakistan isnt exactly Middle East, but just wanted to Join in. We had Zaheer's interview on Nov 2nd. It went smoothly enough since it had to be rescheduled due to Islamabad being closed on our original interview date. Anyhow, we were interviewed by an American man who was nice enough, he didnt ask for any evidence, Zaheer gave him a list, like a table of contents of all the evidence we brought. He just scanned over it and said "How did you meet?" then he explained.. yada yada, he barely asked any questions. Mostly it was just like normal convo like "Really, you been in PK that long?" (to me). He laughed when he said that alot of Floridians dont speak Punjabi and I said "Its ok, I understand some Urdu too". He asked if Zaheer was married before, he said no, then he asked me "You were married before, right?" and I said "yes" and he said "How many times" and I said "once" and then he moved on. He said that he believes our intentions to go to USA and live are for the best and that all our papers are in order and complete. So he gave us back our original documents and said there will be Administrative Processing and it is unknown how long it will be. Average is 2-3 months, he said but could be shorter or longer. He didnt give us any slips, all he did was hand us the passport with a purple sticker on the back, then said "When they call you, take your passport to AmEx office in Sialkot and submit it and we will return it to you with visa inside" then he handed us a paper with a listing of all approved AmEx offices in Pakistan, Sialkot was circled. There was an identical sticker stapled to the top of the sheet. And thats all that happened. We called the next day to confirm that all was ok. They told us teh visa was approved as per our case file and that we will eventually get a call. He said there is no difference whether they keep your passport or not and I asked if we should call DOS to check status and he said "No just call us at Embassy". So. thats it. It has only been a few days, I know. But, just wanted to tell you all that we are in AP too. We keep praying daily, so just keep your hopes up. My baby is due in March, so I am hoping Zaheer and I will be able to go back to USA before then. I really dont wanna deliver in PK. So, wish us luck at least for the baby's sake. Take care all, and Insha'Allah, we will all get good news soon. I been in Pakistan since January, and I miss my home.

 I have to register for the GRE for December. That gives me about 4-6 weeks to study depending on which date I take it: 12/11 or 12/28. Dec 28th is our third wedding anniversary and we were checking ticket prices today together and saw it's getting higher and more tight that we may really be missing our third anniversary together. :( All my graduate school application material has to be in by Jan. 10th. I'm hoping to go to WSU for graduate school for my MA in communications or political science. I really like it in this region and I love Washington and it's the most affordable out of the three but it's the longest program of the three because it lasts for two years. There is a mosque in the town my Husband can go to and it's a quiet area to live too. With the MA in communications I can go for a PhD somewhere like Columbia. With the MS in Political Science it says it trains you specifically for work in intelligence. That sounds exciting too! At the career center they had all these internships printed out for the CIA and various government offices. I know one girl that's applying for that. One of the requirements for the internship is a polygraph test. I don't think I'll be applying for internships that aren't local right now. I don't even know when my Husband is getting here yet but if the passport is delayed much longer it looks like he will be here sometime next year. I also got news that his Sister and her Husband and their two kids have their tickets to fly here Dec. 20th. Her Husband's lawsuit is not finalized but it's looking like it's not going to finish well either. They are not willing to hear anything he says for his dissertation and they reduced his position from University lecturer putting him in office work which is so stupid really because he's a brilliant surgeon and deserves his PhD. They also added one more person to his board panel and it's someone he had conflicts with years ago. So they are all coming here together for her PhD work now. She has two parts of her USMLE finished and just needs the 3rd part which you can only take stateside. He's also going to take advantage and start studying to take his USMLE's. So now it looks like we might be having three doctors from the family living and working here but they really don't want to give up their positions at the University back in Egypt. I am not sure what they are going to do with their life.

why do they want phds? do they want to be professors instead of practicing medicine? i think if he is a surgon he will make more doing that then being a professor.

The education system is built different over there. It's long to explain here.

No, the beneficiary cannot do it alone. If you (the petitioner) withdraw the petition, he cannot immigrate as your beneficiary.

Strange thing, I dont see where embassy sent him back his passport as I requested, and I wonder if he went there and got it himself on Monday and withdrew the petition. Thats why I called D of S to see if any notes from embassy in system of any update on the visa or if he withdrew it, I kind of would think, they would of notified me of this. I now think something has happened to him, his voice mail is full, not like him at all, and if he did not get his passport back, he would let me know about it.

Always something.............................. Im getting my fill of this #######.

Not to be nosy Beth, but have the two of you worked out the problem from before? Or have you even spoken since then?
