Ally,

I've already bombarded you with advise :P

As far as the CR1 vs K3.. *I* noticed (after having Y ask around there and looking on VJ last year) that K visas get less AP post interview out of Amman.

Thanks Lisa. We really have no idea which to do! I think we will file the I129F and just wait to see what happens... see which moves faster. I know a lot of people talk about the CR1 is cheaper... but that is not a big issue right now for us. Being together the fastest is what we care about most right now. Thanks again... AP would NOT be a good thing!

AP, although not a "good" thing, will probably happen to your husband. Since you have a clear denial on your K1 application, I cannot imagine any CO will give you an approval after an interview. Yours is one case where I can easily see both AP and Administrative Review with an excellent chance for a home visit. Prepare yourselves - this is going to take some time. (And, if it doesn't, consider it a gift.)

Oh, I hadnt either!

Ally, if you do decide to do the K3, decide as soon as you get the NOA from the 130. The longer you wait to file the 129f the further back in the "line" you will go(loner time at USCIS)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

wow Staashi, youre right.

I hadnt thought of that either... this is a perfect example of a case where they would probably do one. I havent heard of many in Amman, but VJ is a tiny percentage of the applicants there.

Ally, this is something to have your husband be prepared for as well. Hopefully you have had a chance to warm up to the fam since youve been there this time (F)

I think something was said in a post about the family not being informed of this marriage. Is this still the case? How well do you think that would go if a home visit did occur?

My personal opinion is that it would be more of a waste to do the K-3. If you aren't able to overcome their suspicions at the first interview it will be sent back. Then they will stop the process of the I-130 and hold it until the I-129f is addressed. In the case of this scenario you can expect a very lengthy wait for either the K-3 or CR1. My thoughts is that if you go the CR1 it won't expire, and a good chance if returned it would take just as long as the K-3 in the end. The benefits would be of course the money aspect, but also if it has been delayed as long as ours was he would be eligible to come on an IR1 rather than a CR1. With that visa you will never have to prove your relationship again.

Of course there is a possibility that this won't happen. It really is a ####### shoot. We worked on both the K-1 and the CR1. The CR1 processed faster, but was denied. I am now grateful for the fact that the USCIS lost the I-129f. He came on the IR1 and we don't have to deal with their bs ever again.

But that is my perspective on it.

I think they know, but they havent "blessed" it so to speak. That was my impression.

If that is the case this could possibly be an uphill battle.

Ah ok, that still will not sit well when officers (hypothetically) show up at the door. But if they're ok with him going to the US and why wouldn't they since they could possibly benefit they could always fake a "blessing".

hey ally i know i mentioned it before but i'll say it again, if things don't work out as planned i'm sure your husband will want you to move to Jordan with him since as you mentioned before all both of you want is to be together for the rest of your lives as fast as possible.

it sounds like you all are deeply in love and i'm sure it will be difficult for him to be apart from you and he will definitely want you to move to Jordan to be with him.

i hate to be negative but have you all discussed you moving to jordan just in case?

Good luck!

As we have already told her and most everyone,(especially here) knows... the family approval is of great importance in that culture(actually in most, other than ours :P). So, it wont sit well at the interview either.

If they just ask HIM if his family approves and he says no or stutters or shows some nervousness, that might trigger another denial or LONG AP, not to mention a home visit. They usually dont have to ask that question because they ask for pics with them instead then make a judgment call.

This may not matter in your case either way Ally but all of the super long(over a year) AP's out of Amman have been CR1's, at least that was the case last and earlier this year. They have cleared alot of that backlog out but still.

Maybe Ally should talk to Aya after her interview. Aya is going through a rough time with the family(F) and I hope to God is isnt brought up in the interview or there is no home visit. But exstensive AP is rather rare with females. Aya, I hope you dont mind me bringing you into the convo but you have been open and your experience may benefit many others. (F)

Crazy as it sounds... part of me would like to get the same CO. I WILL be at the next interview and I would love to show her that we ARE a real couple just trying to get thru this difficult journey!

And I have read of others who went thru without problems after a bad K1 experience, but I am still praying for the best but expecting the worst. I guess its all I can do for now.

But the more I read, the more I think we better do the CR1. But I'm still confused!

Guess I will send the I129F when I get the NOA1 from the 130 and take it all from there.

The longer the process takes, the more I can visit, and hopefully that will help too! Already planning to come back in February or March!
