"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Jackie - you gotta do what you gotta do.

Well, folks, I'm in a pickle and still too stunned and sorting it all out at the same time. I hate to say something but not ... too much ... but, darn it, this is tough.

:choosing words carefully:

How much faith do you have in the decisions the Embassy makes? Really. There are people who get visas and, as it turns out, weren't honest about their intentions. There are also people who were honest and didn't get visas. Regardless of the circumstances, it's still the government (actually) that makes desicison. How comfortable do you, as experienced VJers, feel about the decisions they make, whether they fell in your favor (meaning, SO/spouse/child/etc. makes it through the immigration gauntlet) or a bad person was kept out? Would you say those decisions are good decisions based on sound reasoning, in general?

I will tell you all this because I feel like I owe you something, I really do not feel like I can spend one more day in Egypt. Nope. No way. Not that life again.

quite honestly, I think their jobs suck and are probably really hard. what a lot of responsibility to bear and of course sometimes the wrong people get through and the right people dont. I certainly wouldnt want to have to do that - having said that it also sucks to be the ones whose lives are dependent on their decisions. I beleive that MOST of them try to make good decisions based on sound reasoning and that there are always going to be exceptions to that.

I hope you are ok, IHQ.

I agree with above. I think it becomes very tricky when the fraud is 1 party (immigrant) and the consulate has just cause to believe so. I am sure the consulates receive a fair share of very angry USC calls who are unaware they are being played.

WE GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!! EARLIER INTERVIEW!!!! OCTOBER 28TH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Beth, I really don't know you, and when I was reading your dilemma I was trying hard to try to come up with some ideas. I do worry so much when crossing lines that could cause him problems. I am glad to see they moved it up for you. Great news and good luck. Now I am not trying to throw a monkey wrench in here, but what will you do if they decide to put him in AP? I hope they don't, but it doesn't hurt to be proactive.

I havent seen anyone who went through AP at NVC be thrown in post interview, hopefully that trend will continue

I am waiting still for things to be processed. Yesterday I received a email informing me that more evidence was needed. I am on pins and needles because I can't think of anything that we could have left out. My fiance ensures me that everything is going to be fine and so I calm down a little. Most of the time he is right when he says that. I am so thankful for him we talk every night for an hour or more. However, since we spent time together in February I have come to realize that one hour isn't enough. I miss him like crazy and I am praying that he will be here in Indiana for Christmas. I am doing everything in my power to remain hopeful. The posts that I have read here have been really helpful and for that I am thankful. :luv:

welcome Misty! At least with an RFE(request for further evidence), it means they are reveiwing your file  Hopefully its something simple and you can get it back to them right away and be on your way to an approval notice :D

I will tell you that after over a year of waiting...every second was worth it and it will all seem like a bad dream when he gets here, try to focus on that. Think of all of the things you will show him there at home, try to work on some projects to prepare for him to come....

glad to have you here
