If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Hmm...okay so if putting my hubby on my insurance involves a social security number, I have one.

They wouldn't give him a new one, once he get's here would they?

Thanks Aya. Inshallah the rest of the process goes easy for you. I keep you in my dua's that inshallah you will be with your husband and your family loosens up in accepting him. It makes me really mad when people mix culture with Islam but just know that Allah SWT is by your side and through my life experiences, I truly know that Allah knows what's best for you.

Salam to everyone else :luv:

Hey all. I did go missing for a bit. Still no visa yet. It's hard doing things alone. They've updated DHL 6 times. I've been in contact with DOS and we've waited 8 weeks now when it was supposed to be 2-3 weeks without AP. I called DOS a while back about that and got Valerie. She made an inquiry and called me back at 6:30 am the next week to tell me that they put him on a second AP. That was cool of her to call me back. This call came after he got an email he was on Final Administrative Review so then we were confused between what DOS says and what the Embassy says.

Today the Embassy responded again to another of his inquiries for a timeline and they asked him for his passport. This was alarming because he left his passport with them at his interview when they requested it then. I called DOS twice and couldn't get through. The second time I waited on hold for 35 minutes. Finally I hung up and emailed the Embassy explaining that he's been working in Hurghada since the interview. They took his visa at the interview and should still have it there since then. That I'd been trying to get through to DOS but can't reach anyone and to please let me know the status of our case and if they found the visa and that if they could do anything about it send him his passport with visa this week because we have to buy plane tickets before they go up for the holidays next week. I'd like to have my Husband here for the holidays. I'm waiting for the 3 days to get my reply from them and then I'm getting my Congressman or Senator involved.

His Sister postponed her scholarship and PhD at John Hopkin's till December when the second semester starts because Waleed and her Husband weren't able to come help with the kids here. She had other options and could have enlisted extended family members to help her Husband out while she went alone and ahead of them for a few months but instead she held herself back. She can't miss the second semester or she forfeits her deal with the University. Now when Waleed comes here he'll be coming directly to me. I'm applying to Graduate Schools which is stressing me out right now and I'm looking for jobs in many different cities. So far I haven't been able to find much which is kind of depressing right now. I'm saving a couple thousand for us to move to the Seattle area. If anyone has tips on how to find a full time job there that will help pay for everything let me know. I want to find work and move us so we start our life together on our own instead of having to move in with Mom while job hunting. I want moving in with Mom to be a last resort and so does she. We're just better off that way.

Hi Ladies...Olvia, good to see you back. I pray things move very quickly for you & Waleed and that you are together again before the holidays roll around.

Hi Lisa...hope you & Yazied are doing well.

Hi Jackie...how are you liking your "change of scenary?"

Hi Beth...how are you today? I pray things are moving quickly for you as well.

Hi Sharifah...how are you feeling today..prayers are with you too!

If you happen to have a facebook account, please become a fan of our Photography page - Gharam Photography. We are trying to spread the word around and trying to get this "side job" off the ground. I know all of you are not in the NC area, but the more people know, the more area gets covered! :) We have really cheap prices since we are just starting out.

Love you ladies!
