Hubby got his permit today, but he is waiting until his behind the wheel test for his drivers license. He has never driven an automatic car, let alone driven in America and it freaks me out! I can't trust him driving yet lol.

Whoo Hoo Kenza, he took a big step, and that is great!!!

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Salaam waiting club and the rest of MENA.

*waves hi to everyone*

Kenza that's so good. I'm sure your hubby will do fine and have that license in no time. Speaking of licenses, Ahmed California license just expired on his birthday this year in March. Anyone know, when he finally get's here to Minnesota, will he need to take the behind the wheel test in addition to the written test? I figured since it expired he would have to do the written over, but I wasn't sure about the other part.

So today is the 4th week of waiting on Cairo to schedule our interview even though the NVC said they started scheduling. It's already Friday, which obviously means the embassy is closed today, so no interview for us this week  InshaAllah next week, we will hear something.

Anywho...here's a large waiting couch for those of us still waiting and those of us who's loved ones are with them, you're still welcome to join us, but YOU have to bring the bebsi :P

I'm pretty sure he has to take the written again because it's a different state but not the behind the wheel test.

Kenza, I let my husband drive my car down a country road about a week after we got here, and he was doing fiiiine until i told him to pull into the middle lane to turn into a driveway and he just pulled through and turned in front of a bunch of oncoming traffic  freaked me out, so no more driving yet, though he can since he has an egyptian license and translation. we tried to get him an Oregon driver's permit the week after he got here because in Oregon you don't have to have a SSN if you are ineligible for one, but they are "still verifying his immigrant status" now almost 3 weeks later, and say it will probably be another 45 days until they are finished. ooookay.
