Confusion about Q.16 on I-765 when filing for AOS

I am a little ahead of the game here... my fiance and I are waiting on our NOA2 for the K1 process but still, we'd like to get organised with the forms needed for AOS and I am a little confused about the I-765 (Filing for Employment Authorisation). Does anyone know how I go about answering Q.16 about Eligibilty Criteria? I have read the instructions on USCIS but still don't understand it.

Also, does anyone know roughly what the timelines are for processing of the I-765 and once you've recieved it, how long it is valid for once issued? Is it 12 months?

Help would be greatly appreciated!

:guides: -> Step-by-Step Guide on How to File for an EAD

If you read that, you'll see that your eligibility category for a concurrent filing with the I-485 AOS application is ©(9), "adjustment applicant."

EAD questions - moving to Working and Traveling prior to Green Card forum...

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

EAD typically takes 30-90 days to get approved and is valid for 1 year (which is usually more than enough time to get the PR/Green Card).

Ok thanks, so if I enter '©(9)' for question 16 as I'm filing when also filing with AOS, how should that read on the form? The spaces look like this:

( ) ( ) ( ). I presume I would complete Q.16 like this...

Q.16 © (9) ( )

The final space is empty?? Is that correct?

If you haven't found it yet, check out the Example Forms section. The sample I-765 there is filled out as a ( c ) ( 9 ).

This is the Working and Traveling before Green Card forum - EAD questions are appropriate here.
