ok finally got hitched. Yeaaaaaaaaaaah

if anyone wants to know what a mass ceremony is like, they line you all up bride to groom and the county clerk reads out the preamble and vows. We had to wait 30 mins into the hour because the auditorium where the ceremony is normally done was booked ( unbeknownst to the county clerks office it seemed!) we waited with other couples, and it was a nice feeling.

I didnt feel cheated as i thought i would. I was worried about it, but to be honest its not all where you get married its who you are getting married to, and who is sharing it with you. Getting married is not all about money and flash its about you and your OH , both families celebrating, showing they care. His mother and sister were there crying thier eyes out so that made it special. it felt special and true to both of us. we are happy.

we are having a blessing/wedding next year with all the family, but the first time you get hitched(for me and him) is still mighty special. All I can say is that I had complete strangers ask us if we were newlyweds because we glowed....aaaaaaaawwwwwwww.

this idea was big news in china on august 8th 1988. 8 is a lucky number to chinese, so 8-8-08 was a big day for civil ceremonies across the country. some had as many as 1000 participants.
