Here is my experience with the ASC for my bio. Mine was originally scheduled on the 23rd, but I decided to try my luck via a walk-in this afternoon. It was raining hard today in NYC and the wind was blowing like crazy. So I got to the office one hour before its closing time. I expected to see a lot more people than just 3. I mean, 1, 2, 3, and I was the third one. They took me, but they had a problem with my new last name since it's different from my ONLY photo id-the passport. I explained to them why I made the change (because I got married! my new last name is hyphenated.) The lady who was about to take my fingerprinting decided to send me to her manager. So there I went, and the manager was very understanding and gave me a pass on that. Anyway, all they would like to see other than the appointment notice and the photo id is the marriage certificate, which is not listed on the notice as one of the documents to bring to the bio appointment. Even with all that hassle, I managed to get everything done and be out of the office in 20 minutes. BUT, the picture they took of me was HORRIBLE!!!

So, if anyone who has changed your last name after getting married wants to try a walk-in with any of the Application Services Center, make sure to also bring your marriage certificate! Good luck, everyone!!!
