how to resize a picture

I am trying to re size a picture to put on here but I can't figure it out I am so computer illiterate when it comes to these things can someone help me? Thanks

What Operating System you are using? If Windows XP, you can edit your picture thru Windows Picture Gallery, just view the picture, then you will find some icons at the top of the window. Look for the EDIT PICTURE, and choose the appropriate size or where you need to post your picture. If you are using Windows Vista,try to open the picture in PAINT then crop the picture and SAVE it to your PICTURE GALLERY, then open it with Windows Picture Gallery and look for EDIT icon then choose AUTO FIX to reduce the size.

You can also try this site http://www.photobucket.com. You can do a lot of stuff in there for your photos and then you download your photos here from the site when they are ready. Good luck.
