Well, I finally got my visa but there are some problems. First of all, the visa is only valid until the end of November. They told me it would be valid for 6 months but it is only 3-4. Also, since it took so long my wife will deliver her baby here in Egypt and we don't know what will happen for citizenship and travel restrictions plus she just signed a contract for work here since we had no news. I'm worried the visa will expire and then we will have to go through this process all over again. Any advise?

Mabrook!!!

As far as the other stuff, I don't know what to tell you. If the baby is born there, she can register his/her birth at the embassy there and he/she will still get citizenship by birthright.

Maybe you should call them to find out about getting it extended.

How far along is your wife in the pregnancy? Is there not anyway you can come before she has the baby?

I'm assuming if she's about to give birth, she wouldn't be able to work for a while anyway.

Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

Good luck

Layla

Your Visa is supossed to be valid for 6 months. You may want to contact the Embassy, tell them about your situation. Maybe they have some advice for you.

Good luck with your new baby (inshaAllah) everything will work out fine for your new family.

If your child is born in Egypt, you can go to the American Embassy and have the birth recorded so that the child has both Egyptian and USA citizenship.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
