Hi, I think this is the right forum to post. Leo (USC fiance) is coming down for the interview for the K1 visa in Malaysia since I will be a nervous wreck but due to some ex-employer problem on due back wages (he's joining a class action law suit with other employees later), we are short on cash and the cash is needed NOW since we are close to our interview date.

I was wondering if any of you know if we can get a small loan from BoA or something for this purpose without a credit score. Anyone have any experience with loans? We need a small amount, like 3k or so for plane tickets, hotels and the like.

We doubt we'll be able to get a credit card for this purpose since he has not started establishing credit yet and probably only qualifies for secured credit card.

What sort of documents, things are needed to apply for a loan like this? Both of us are new to loans and credit and all that stuff. The most we ever used were debit cards. So we have absolutely no experience and don't know what to expect.

Some help?

Without a credit history and credit score it will be virtually impossible for him to obtain a loan without a creditworthy cosigner.

Don't forget to budget for the $1010.00 Adjustment of Status that you will file shortly after your marriage.

He has a job now if that helps. And copies of bills paid to verizon, rent etc and his account where his wages were paid to was BoA which showed a regular income from his last job.

We should be fine for AOS fees later on. It is just at this point in time where we are short and need to come up with it ASAP. It's a really shitty circumstance and bad luck with what happened to his ex-employer.
