I need to wait 2 months for the culture, next month i will call St.Lukes for the sputum result. Is there anyone experience like this? How many percentage that the result will negative? Please help me, all i really want is to be with my hubby.

I've been there too. If you don't have history of TB, don't worry, there's a big probability that your sputum culture is negative.

I know it is hard and very depressing. Just keep praying, and you will be fine. Honestly, I so wanna curse that SLEC. Hahahahaha! Their sputum culture is definitely outdated and there's a new and faster way now to know if you have TB. I still have my test here in US when I got in, so it's so useless to spend 2 months delayed. And I am still negative.

I totally agree and share your sentiment regarding SLEC, their methods are totally outdated.

Where I work I am required to take TB test every year...it a simple TB SKIN test(injecting a small amount under your skin) and it can be read by any licensed nurse 2-3 days later....the results are to see if you have been exposed to TB or not.

Wasting 2 additional months (on the culture)just for the results... is waste of time, money and energy and most will still be negative at the end....

Best wishes...

Don't worry my dear, I underwent sputum culture for two months which was due just last Thursday, Sept 10. The result was negative so I was scheduled for interview on the 15th. Basically, interview date after negative sputum culture result takes only three days. I was cleared at St Lukes last Thursday, and have my interview on Tuesday due to the two non working days.

There are a lot of lung problems which causes such x-ray result so it's not just TB. Keep your cool since there is nothing much anyone can do but to submit to SLEC procedures in the this matter. Keep praying though.

CONGRATS! for passing the medical and for your interview soon... Did you call St.lukes earlier or follow the date they gave you? I keep on praying hopefully i get negative result. I've heard there are many who had their sputum culture and the result is positive.Have you seen that also on your batch mate during the sputum culture?

God knows all of this and i trust him that it will turn into good news..

Counting the days it makes me crazy. It's so weird if my phone ring and the caller unregistered i thought that was St. Luke calling me. It is really a night mare.

And also we will celebrating our 1st anniversary this coming november, hopefully by date i am already there.

Thank you guys for the responce..Please pray for me.

WHAT HAPPENED WAS THAT MY SPUTUM SMEAR RESULT WAS NEGATIVE. REMEMBER THE THREE DAY SPUTUM COLLECTION? THAT WAS FOR SPUTUM SMEAR. SINCE NONE OF THESE THREE TURNED POSITIVE OF TB INFECTION, THEY ASKED ME TO WAIT FOR TWO MONTHS UNTIL THE SPUTUM CULTURE RESULT.

I FOLLOWED THE SCHEDULE THEY GAVE ME. THEY TOLD ME THAT IF I DON'T HEAR FROM THEM ON SEPT3, I SHOULD CALL THEM ON SEPT 9. MY PHONE RANG FOR ST. LUKES ON SEPT 8 TELLING ME THAT THE RESULT IS READY. THEY SAID THEY WILL FINALIZE THE NEXT DAY SO THEY ASKED ME TO CALL THEM ON SEPT.9 AFTER LUNCH. i DID SO THAT'S WHEN THE GUY ASKED ME TO BRING TWO VISA ID, PASSPORT AND OLD APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION COPY TOGETHER WITH THE RECEIPT FROM ST. LUKES. I DID NOT BOTHER TO ASK WHETHER THE RESULT WAS POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE. I JUST IT WAS NEGATIVE SINCE I GOT HINT FROM VJ MEMBERS WHO HAD UNDERGONE THE SAME.

IN SHORT, JUST FOLLOW THEIR SCHEDULE AND DON'T WORRY SINCE THEY USE CP NUMBERS AND NOT UNKNOWN CALLER ID.

WITH THE NUMBER OF CASES NUMBERING TO OVER 100 PERSONS BATCHMATE, THE STAFF INFORMED ME THAT ST. LUKES WOULD BE LUCKY TO HAVE AT LEAST 6 POSITIVE OF TB INFECTION.

HOPE I'VE HELPED. GOD BLESS ALWAYS.....
