You need to use the search function, it really will help you out to read other people's experiences. Recently there have been quite a few on the Pkg 3 contents and how to fill them out.

This is a forum for questions, but it's good to get reading too.

Just off the top of my head... DS 230 Pt. 1, DS 160 (online), DS 156, DS 156K, and I-134. The first two need to be completed and sent back with the checklist before the interview is scheduled, and the others are to be brought to the interview with you. Documents you will need to gather (as stated in the packet 3) for your interview: Long form birth certificate, police certificate, divorce and custody documents (if applicable), make sure your passport is valid for at least a year, and have supporting documentation for the I-324 affidavit of support (ie. 2008 tax return, letter from employer etc.), as well as relationship evidence.

Are you going through Montreal or Vancouver? Check out the "Embassy Info" tab, it has some good information about whats required from each consulate.

Yes, please use the search. You will find exactly what you are looking for. We were just discussing this within the last couple of days... screen shots included.

Additionally... you have to do the I 129F well before packet 3. I know you're trying to gather knowledge about the process, but one step at a time! lol seriously.

Micheyme...you really need to take a DEEEEEEEEP breath, and read the Guides and FAQ's. That will give you some idea of the timelines involved. Look above and you'll see pinned threads as well. There is a Canada Wiki Guide as well, and it even has a copy of the package 3 that you'll eventually receive and things you'll need for that. Just start gathering things like boarding passes, take lots of pictures, perhaps save some emails, copies of credit card receipts, hotel receipts things like that.

The only two things I'd worry about right now, is obtaining your LONG birth certificate. You'll need that, and sometimes it takes time to get it back. Remember, the LONG BC. The other thing is you had a question about a criminal record. I'd go and get an CPIC done now. It's only good for a year, and you might need to have it redone, but given your history, you'll maybe want to know right now what's on your record and whether you're going to have to prepare for a waiver or not.

Please forget about package 3 right now, and concentrate in getting your 129F in, getting your long BC and your criminal record check done. You're going to have to get a fingerprint done as well, and maybe obtain court records. That's what you should be concentrating on now.

Best of luck.
