Beginning my VisaJourney!

My wife of almost 2 years now had a 2-year restricition on her visa when I met her. She came to the U.S. on a J-2 visa from a previous marriage to a J-1 visa holder and after she got divorced was no longer valid. We got married about 4 months after her divorce. The J-2 specifically says 2-year restriction on there so she had to return to her home country of Thailand and has been back there for a year and a half. I want to start preparing for her return and have found this website very helpful in finding information and have also found that there are many people in similar situations in a very complicated system. So now, i'm thinking of filing a K-3 visa application as well as a IR1 Visa. I hope i'm on the right track...wish me luck.

Good luck! The k-3 is slow, expensive and obosolete - in my opinion. Go for the IR1, it is the superior visa

Citizenship

April 29, 2013 - NOA1 for petition received

September 10, 2013 Interview - decision could not be made.

April 15, 2014 APPROVED. Wait for oath ceremony

Waited...

September 29, 2015 - sent letter to senator.

October 16, 2015 - US Citizen

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg
