Just called NVC and got my interview date! Oct 29!

That is if I understood correctly because I have been way too excited to listen to the very end!!!

So I guess the email will follow :D yey!

Hey congratulations, great news!

Seems to be a trend of giving less notice for interviews.

Hey which visa are you applying for...no timeline?

Congrats! Not sure how long you've waited and I am curious.

I just called the NVC and asked how they scheduled interviews, and I don't think I have ever had a such a nonsensical conversation in my life. I was told that it was done by the NVC completed date, then when I pointed out that others with a later date were being scheduled before me, he told me it was done by individual circumstances. When I asked how could they know about individual circumstances, he changed his story to something else. He also initially said that Montreal tells the NVC which cases to schedule, but then said the NVC is in charge of giving the cases to Montreal. I honestly think the front line people on the phone have zero idea of what is going on. When I finally asked for a supervisor, he came back on the line a couple of minutes later to tell me to call back in 15-20 minutes because they were all busy. Frustrating!!! I just want a date so I can plan a vacation and other things. Is that too much to ask? I honestly think they've forgotten entirely about us people who were completed in June.

I agree. We are also in the completed in june group without an interview. I feel your pain...

I think he's a CR1 interview since he started a thread about CR1's being completed at NVC but no interview. I could be completely wrong.

Yes it's either a CR1/IR1 or IR5

Interesting you mention that! When I was waiting for my K-1 interview I called DOS March 26th early in the morning and they had nothing. Then the next day, I heard about several people getting their interviews scheduled. So I called, and success! But... when I got my Packet 4, it was dated March 26th, not March 27th. So you never know what can change in the course of a day! I just found that a little funny...

But congrats Mikey!! :) That's awesome!

Thanks guys! I was so happy to find out...I called after I read one of the posts today that someone got their interview date...wasn't really hoping for much and almost dropped the phone when the operator said that the interview was just scheduled :)

Few things that I need to clarify...I am not CR/IR...I am actually in family-based category (F1) so that makes a difference in how my timeline was shaped. It's been 7 years since my I-130 was filed and I waited until now when my priority date became current. That is one of the reasons why I do not have the whole timeline here, I should however have my NVC part of the journey which started last June...except there were many case-specific arrangements that delayed my case, among others 2 RFEs that I received for extra docs that are not even a part of standard packet requested by NVC...so I every time I got down to doing it, it felt like writing a whole resume and I already felt exhausted...

In another thread we discussed how consulates give NVC quotas for interviews in particular categories. Usually CR/IR gets the greatest part of the available interviews but on the other hand there are not that many people in my category (F1) unmarried sons and daughters of US citizens...part of the reason is that since the process takes really long, like in my case 7 years, some people get married and in such case their petitions are moved from category F1 to F3 which is for the married people. So I guess I just got lucky because there are actually not that many people in F1...but then again it's been 7 years ;)
