Good After noon!

So i have come up with a question, hope some of you out there may be able to answer for me.

So after you get a hard copy of the Noa2, the uscis mails all info to the nvc, then the nvc contacts us to pay the next fees, is this the time when they will ask for an Affidavit of support? do they ask for more papers?

I will be having a co-sponser, My parents, I Havent had a full time job since i graduated college in the usa and since i moved back from India in April 09, just part time job..babysitting my cousins.

So i wanna have all Affidavit of supports papers when i go to india.....can anyone help me with these questions?

I am really hoping to have my noa2 and being able to fly back to India to my fiance Mani, to celebrate dewali and bring all the paperwork needed for the interview, i wuld just stay in india till then.

thank you for reading this!

You are confusing the K-1 process with the IR-1/CR-1 process.

For the K-1, after the USCIS service center approves your I-129F petition (aka NOA2), the approved petition is sent to NVC. NVC conducts additional background checks on the beneficiary, then forwards the case to the consulate where the beneficiary will interview. NVC only collects forms and fees in the IR-1/CR-1 visa process.

For K-1s, Affidavit(s) of Support are required at the time of the consular interview.

(K-1 affidavit of support = consular interview phase = moving to Embassy and Consulate Discussion)

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

You could benifit from reviewing the K-1 Visa Flowchart - NOA2 is Step 4. The Guides and example forms will fill in the details.

ok so for the k-1 visa the only fees you pay are the ones at the USCIS office, n only at nvc they just check into the papers more and send, but the nvc they request for the affidavent of support.

Yes i do live with my parents, my finace mani and i plan on living with my parents untill we can save money and move somewhere else.

so if i plan on being in india for the interview i would need to have the affidavent of support papers with me when i go after nao2 right?

NVC will not request an affidavit of support in K-1 cases. The consulate will require that for the interview. So if you're planning to go to India for the interview, you can take the affidavit(s) and supporting documents with you, or you can send them ahead to your fiance.

As for fees, there is an additional $131 fee required for the visa. Follow the consulate's instructions to pay this fee at or before the interview.
