The interview was short and sweet. They were only asked for their IDs and did show the officer some photos and told her how they met. When asked if she'd ever lied to a customs official she said "not yet"! She wasn't allowed to have her original Thai birth certificate back, which was in the packet from the embassy and they weren't allowed to defer the issue of the reen card until their second anniversary, which is a little over a month away. Now they're off to Disneyland to celebrate! Thanks to all.

congrats, wonderful news...21 months USCIS free. strange they wouldn't let her have her original birth cert back. we gave them copies but were allowed to keep the original. after the celebration they should look into getting it back.

ROC Timeline

18 NOV 2010 Sent 1.8lb packet to USCIS in Laguna Niguel (day 1)

Thanks to all! It seems that the USCIS has a form for everything, including one to request that orginal documents be returned. At least they don't charge for it! It can be sent directly to the field office, so it might be worth another try. When they get done celebrating I ask them if they want to submit it. I really didn't know what I was signing onto when my son asked me to help with this process.

03/15/2012 -Received letter from USCIS - have to go to interview April 24th
