I will always fill my pan up with cold water when I go to boil water.

That's not weird, that's what you're supposed to do. Never use hot water for drinking or cooking - it's non-potable.

How does that work...I thought boiling would kill anything that would cause the water to be non-potable?

I believe the concern is lead from your pipes. Boiling water with trace lead would actually increase the lead concentration.

I have a few weird ones

--I go crazy if I see any shoe or sandal upside down.

--I have my own side of the bed, it doesn't have to east or west, but I determine my side according to the bed.

--I have to cover my feet with a blanket when I sleep, if I don't cover I feel things crawling up my feet.

-- When I chew food, I start the first bite from right side and the second bite will be from left side, basically I chew alternatively. I just can't chew from one side alone.

--When the time comes to sleep, I have to keep all doors and windows closed, even the attached bathroom door has to be closed or I can't sleep.

I guess that's about it for now, I can't remember anymore My husband has only 1 weird habit, he can't stand pimples, if he sees pimple on anyone he has the urge to pop pimples

oooh trinket I have weird things when I need for sleep too. must be completely dark, really cold, have the right amount of pillows, no tv or radio on, blankets can't be tucked into the bottom of the bed, etc. I can't sleep if all my weird things aren't right. i'm also with you on the side of the bed thing and the doors.

I used to have all of these. My wife has made a concious effort to break me of many of them. I do however require total darkness and total silence. I almost murdered my freshman roomate in university who insisted on sleeping with his t.v. on. It was easier to murder his t.v..

I'm the opposite. I like to have my feet hanging over the bed but usually throw a blanket over my head unless it's really hot.

I think it's much easier for someone to just give in to my sleeping needs than listen to me b*tch about it. I've had a lot of guys over the years who thought I was insane, but gave in to shut me up

Now I must admit that when I'm drinking, all my oddities regarding sleeping go right out the window. I've slept in a porch sink before when I was completely pissed.

I thought I was the crazy one... There is a lot of things that I have too, my clothes are sorted by color, type, formal, informal, night clothes, cleaning.

Dishes have to be sorted by size and shape. when I wash them, I do plates first then cups then containers then pans and pots and at the end I do spatulas and that sort of thing, the utensils, such as forks knives spoons I wash one kind at the time and rinse one kind at a time.

I also have that thing for hangers, I alphabetize almost everything, cds, books, movies, oh and do it by size, I date everything and keep track of the places we go, and keep receips for years

I recycle almost everything. I have 6 trash bins in my pantry. I also have a trash compactor and I mulch. I get mad at people for putting things in the wrong trash can.

Since I live with my mother in law I can not do this but trust me once I move out I will have a trash can for almost everything
