What do you all use to send your applications in?

It's almost time to send my application in, and I'm torn. I can either use the document box, or I can use a USPS envelope. When I put my application in the box it still has room to move around and I'm kind of worried that things might look like a mess by the time they get to the Vermont Service Center.

So I've decided to take a poll and go from there. I still have a few days before I send my packet in, so as silly as this question might be, take a load off and answer a light-hearted question for a change(instead of those about the dredded RFE's, and other things that can go wrong. :crying: )!

So what did you use to send your application?

just send it by e-mail.

I was thinking that, but also with a cute little lolcat picture attached to it as well!

Our petition was over 150 pages. We had cover letters for each section, a cover letter for the entire package, a detailed time line of relationship and lots of proof of relationship to front load the petition. We even included the beneficiary's passport and birth cert copy thinking it would help name checks.

We got approved without any RFE and spent about 3 days at NVC before it got forwarded to the consulate.

We sent it via DHL and it was signed for by that guy everyone knows at Vermont, I forget his name. Did not use a box but a plastic envelope to protect it from weather. Acco fasteners on two punched holes ontop of the entire thing.

Our petition was 75 pages. I used the Acco fastener, or you can use a big clip to keep it together. I stuffed it in a UPS 2-day letter envelope (the rigid kind) and sent it off. It was $12 and I could track it the entire way, and get a signature, which you'll be glad you did.

I didn't have to pay extra for the signature with UPS. I believe that's only with USPS.

I used the flat rate priority shipping via USPS with deliver confirmation sent to the USCIS PO Box. No issues, got our NOA1 within a week. It cost under $10.

USPS Priority Mail document envelope (made out of cardboard) free from Post Office

Certified Mail

Return Receipt

After successfully sending in 4 separate packages, I would say the above items work just fine.

I strongly advise against using Certified Mail for filing a petition. Delivery confirmation is enough. Making them sign for it is actually likely to cause a delay and makes you absolutely no more certain of delivery than the simple delivery confirmation you can get online.

I advice priority mail with delivery confirmation and I assure you I've used it for far more than four packages sent to USCIS all without delivery problems.

Maybe you sent more packages, but your wife isn't going for her naturalization interview next month either.

My timeline speaks for itself.

Got it Robbie...but the OP is from CANADA too! I would assume he'd be responding to the OP and not just shooting out random facts. Thanks for the comment though :)

Thanks for that update douchematt! His comments are valid for those dealing with Asian consulates.
