Obama is not my hero. My dad is my hero, actually. I have no American heroes and even if I did, it certainly wouldn't be a politician. I don't know any one well enough that is American to call them that.

If you are seriously asking why a president can't be straight with people then maybe you should lay off the politics for awhile.

Again, I'm not even registered to vote, and to be honest with you, wouldn't have voted for either of the D or R candidates any ways. So, everything I think and say on these matters is actually quote unbiased.

You need to understand the American psyche. Being patriotic to many here means wearing a flag pin, waving a flag, holding a flag and joining the Military. Whereas for Aussies and I am assuming Canadians, our nations earn their lover from potential citizens or new immigrants. Go to either Canada or Australia and say gezz I think we could change abc and do it better by looking a county Z, who is doing hij, and I bet the countries would consider it. Not in America, the first response would be what do you have against America. Get the #### out. This indoctrination from birth that the country is above everyone else, the envy of the world, has made the country very complacent and quite delusional to realty. Also why many refuse to accept that others are doing something better as it's almost some sort of mental programing clash.

Relax folks, we are only 9 months into the Obama Presidency, if you are this upset about someone speaking two words to Obama "You Lie", what are you gonna do as we really ratchet things up?

You must admit there is a touch of hypocrisy when.... on one hand, you get offended at a slight outburst during a speech, yet

shrug your shoulders when Palin and daughters are called Prostitute and sluts.

Suddenly the left is interested in Civility.

If you use sweeping generalisations in this way, your accusations will become even more meaningless than usual. Not everyone on the left of you found the interuption upsetting, not everyone on the left of you would call Palin and daughters such derogatory names. Your outrage at hipocrisy is unfounded.

Danno the left on VJ has invented this new copout that I like to call "The Generalisations Copout". Their response to everything is, "You're making generalisations so I don't have to respond, and your responses are meaningless, bla bla bla."

What I love about you Joe, is that you take something fundamentally simple and twist it into something needlessly complex. Here's a hint - why not actually read what people are saying before you jumpt to spurious conclusions? If you continually stereotype people and misrepresent their opinions based on nothing more than your gut and some silly cardboard cutout conception that everyone who doesn't agree with you is the same, you really can't be surprised when people give you the finger.

Of course, doing so is futile - because you clearly lack the self-awareness to acknowledge, let alone step beyond your own preconceptions.
