95% of the comments on the OT forum are based in rhetoric, generalizations & just plain nonsense. Whenever someone introduces facts they are ignored or the source is questioned (regardless of the source). In fact you were guilty of that when I quoted Fox News & Rasmussen (both right leaning sources) in another topic. The bottom line is that most VJers (right or left) have their mind made up & whenever someone has an opposing view all they hear is "blah blah blah".

Dude, "EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE IS DIFFERENT" When they Booed Bush's speech, that was different too because a war was going on.

Booyah posting rules should not apply in real world. If someone trips me, that should not give me the right to break their skull in return.

Booed is one thing. An elected official shouting out the president a liar, while he is addressing the congress, is not acceptable. I hope your repub buds realize this was all over Al Jazera. Aka used to mocked the president and America.

The fact is that the president is deceiving the American public when he insinuates that illegal aliens cannot get public funded health insurance through his proposed legislation. Of course the wording of the legislation states this, but the Democratic leadership squashed any verification and enforcement mechanisms to actually prevent it from happening. Whether this is technically a lie or not is in the eye of the beholder. Joe Wilson called him a liar when he stated that his legislation would not prevent illegal aliens from receiving these benefits. In fact, there are no mechanisms to prevent them from doing so.

These are facts that the American people need to know. I'm not a registered member of any party and it is so stated on my voter registration card. I refuse to buy into party politics and have been an Independent my entire voting history. I can see that Obama is not being straightforward on this issue with the American public and Joe Wilson's outburst (while inappropriate) is not a total fabrication.

Cherrypicking facts along party lines will not get at the real truth on this issue. The fact is that Obama's legislation will allow illegal aliens access to taxpayer subsidized health insurance because nothing stops them from doing it except words on paper.

And who REALLY cares though? Honestly...I think there is this entire fantasy, Mr. PeeJay, that people REALLY care. Honestly, If I've gotta bend over and lose a couple bucks in my life time and illegal aliens reap the benefits of it somehow, WHO CARES! There were/are tons of services, paid by tax dollars, that illegal immigrants had access to BEFORE Obama during Bush's administration...so what's the difference now?

If we dedicated 1% of the time we spend obsessing over illegal alien loopholes to researching the causes that facilitate illegal immigration in the first place... there'd be more people a whole lot clearer in seeking progressive ways on reducing the issue to a more pragmatic level where the problem would be statistically negligible.
