I can't but help to attach context to these separate events. One was based on a lie, one was not. You do the math. Others may have an impediment and/or blinders to that tune. But yes... its disrespectful b/c the thrower wasn't 'gellin.

1. A lot of people were upset about the remarks on the Palin family. I for one, who is pretty independent politically in the US and thinks both sides of this political spectrum in the united states is a bunch of ####### (I like choices ), thought it was distasteful. There weren't many people out there that thought, "or, gosh darn it that letterman, he's so funny attacking someone's children like that". It was a national news story for DAYS...please don't act like people turned a blind eye.

2. I also think what happened the other night WAS NOT a big deal. So he called the President a liar..so what..it's politics..people get heated...every one has an opinion...I would have been happier if someone would have answred Mr. Wilson back on national TV with a.."No, YOU LIE!".

People, even on this board, are so extreme in their views that you (in the general sense of you) fail to see the lightheartedness in so many things. There is such bias in every post. The fact of the matter is, is that people were not happy with President Bush and they will not be happy with President Obama. No one is EVER happy here.

In Canada, we could really care less half the time who the hell the Prime Minister is, as long as every one is getting along with their lives.
