First of all I want to say sorry if this gets posted in the wrong area. I tried searching and all that and I just can't figure this site out.

Now with the helping.

My boyfriend and I are hoping to get married. He's a UK Citizen, and I'm a US Citizen. I have decided that I want to move to the UK to be with him, however I was thinking that it may be easier to get married here (the US) first and then apply for a spouse visa there.

If anyone has any helpful information or similar scenarios or advice it would help so much.

Thanks for your time, and sorry about the posting issue.

I think you'd get more help if you post this in the United Kingdon thread found in the Regional Discussion forum since VJ is a site for people who want to immigrate to the US and not to other countries.

I cannot help you with UK immigration rules. He can visit here on the VWP and you can get married anywhere you want. No problem. Marriage has nothing to do with immigration status. What you CANNOT do is enter with a tourist visa, get married and file to adjust status. Getting married is not a problem. In the future if you both want to move back here, you can file a DCF in London several months before you come back.
