Hello, ladies! Remember the beauty of how all perspectives are VALID. Your words, not mine. Get over that someone disagrees with you, act like you believe what you say and tell me how valid my perspective is. To do otherwise only proves that you didn't really mean it.

I only make the observations, you give me something to observe.

Not EVERY perspective is valid, you're right.

I agree with your position that one HAS to catagorize and formalize a sense of what is Good and what is Bad; not every opinion can be valid because some opinions are harmful and lead to harmful actions. Having a clearly defined sense of Good and Bad, Moral and Immoral, and what constitutes "harmful" etc. IS necessary or else there would be chaos and no one could really think anything. It is more a question of where those principles come from since EVERYONE has an idea of what is acceptable and what is not. Not EVERY opinion can possibly be valid. You're right.

There can never be a complete consensus of opinion about what is Good and what is Bad, but I think that the themes of behavior streaming through ALL human faiths -- kindness to others, compassion, respect for one's own life and the lives of others, etc. -- are many times more important than the laws and rules established to govern lifestyle within a particular group. I believe that if you live towards those common themes -- genuine kindness and compassion and respect -- your lifestyle will naturally reflect the will of God/Allah. Of course, there will always be exceptions, however. Again, that is just MY view. I also think the goal of religion and spirituality should be to bring people together in cooperation and any rule or code that is designed to separate people into groups and classes and catagories is counter-productive, regardless of where it comes from. Again, just MY opinion and my view and no one has to agree or even respect it. Non me ne frega ;)

GoldenHeart -- I am really sorry for your situation! I have absolutely no idea what advice to offer, but I wish you the best! Have you tried to call USCIS or anyone again? I hope you hear something very soon (F)

Valid has nothing to do with agreeing or disagreeing... and frankly your insults have turned me away from your words from this moment forward. It doesn't mean your view is invalid. It means I don't particularly like the things you said to me. I wish you well. :)

I'm not surprised, Jean. I'd be the first to acknowledge that I am not for everyone, especially the very sensitive. No one can be best for everyone. But then, not everyone is my favorite either. That's life.

Not EVERY perspective is valid, you're right.

Thanks, Karen. Political correctness is a burden I don't bear well. I love common sense!

What I notice is the " I dont wanna play no more, give me my toys back" mentality.

why cant you debate - stop flaking out with this - I am leaving VJ dubage. its old, its not working. no one really leaves.

so debate - state your 1001 valid/ invalid point. Then share, learn and grow - by agreeing or disagreeing with facts!

this statement is address to those that are having the above mentality.

I picked out a quote from your post that make sin sense in reality. I don't enjoy belittling; I also don't enjoy reading nonsensical platitudes, and that drivel about all perspectives being valid is nothign but drivel.

My dad used to say that opinions are like anuses, everyone has one and some of them stink. That's all I'm saying about your quote.

You can see the other thread for my reply.

This thread was for Golden Heart to seek advice and you and I ruined it for her. We both should be ashamed of ourselves. I am.

Don't beat yourself up, Layla. It's a conversation, and clearly it was an interesting one for a lot of people. No one 'owns' a thread here, and sometimes the conversation turns. No one really has anything concrete to offer GH, and if they do, they'd certainly be able to find her.

Don't be shamed by speaking up about what you believe. :)
