what you guys don't get the chicken catcher's appeal..??

yeah he doesn't have the greatest singing voice but he sings from his heart.. you can't help but feel touched when he sings..

now as for Babara Padilla.. yeah she sings good but I don't feel the same connection with her as I do with the chicken catcher guy..

Yeah, sorry. I don't feel him. Though I don't doubt that he's singing from his heart. I guess because I connect more with the original singers of the songs he's singing than his version. To me, he's just another campfire singer.

Yay that Barbara and Lawrence made it to the finals! :dance:

Don't forget to watch on Monday! They've changed the schedule.

We never watch anything live---love our Tivo HD!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I loved the song that Susan Boyle sang. And I really enjoyed the group production with Thelma Houston. But I'm still mad! :angry:

I only half watched it, so I didn't see all the rankings. Did see Susan - I really like her.

I wasn't surprised that country guy won.

You know, that show is a bit odd - I typed 'off' there by mistake - but that works too :lol:

we watched it last night.. I feel both Kevin Skinner and Barbara singing from their heart when they perform.

I thought Barbara would win..

USC Husband thought Kevin, the chicken catcher, will and he did...

After the results were announced, he commented more americans listen to country music than opera.. I guess he has a point..

With what he said i guess he knows better in terms of what americans like... that should just be right, because i am still a foreigner in this country and admits i still don't know much about american living to predict outcomes like this... just got me thinking...

I totally thought Recycled Percussion should have won, just because they totally could pull off a Vegas show,..

I was surprised that the country guy won, even though he was one of my favs but I totally though Barbara would win...

I have no clue how Drew Stevens made it to the Top 10 :P... I didn't really like him at all...

I thought the 3 Texans didn't mesh as a group. Individually, they sounded good. But together? I don't think it worked. They were each doing their own thing and had their own style.... which didn't gel.

I think he's probably right on those thoughts. Plus I'm not sure if the type of audience who would listen to opera would be watching a talent show and vote. It would be interesting if we knew the demographics of the voters.

Yeah. I had zero interest in Drew Stevens. Recycled Percussion wasn't my thing, either, but I could definitely see them in a Vegas show.

yeah Drew Stevens was so boring.. he had zero personality .. no idea how he made it so far :blink:

yeah recycled percussion wasn't my thing either but I could tell they were good
