Yeah, there's not much information around here about K2's.

You have to submit an affidavit for each of them, along with supporting evidence. Most consulates require only one original copy of the I-134, and will accept photocopies for each additional applicant.

That's true Jim. It would be a good suggestion for this site, otherwise outstanding, to include information about k-2s.

Yes, you need a separate I-134 for each and there are some subtle differences in how it is filled out. I have sample forms if you would like for a finacee with children. My email is at my profile here. The K-2 is a separate visa application and at the interview you will need to basically duplicate all the paperwork, fees, medical exams, etc., for each applicant. It is the K-1 "squared" so to speak. :)

Probably correct about the I-134 also. Kiev said I needed three full and complete separate I-134s and I did that, but they handed back everything except Alla's I-134. I cannot tell anyone otherwise though, the next CO may want the full thing for everyone.

Certainly was not what I did for Kiev... I submitted one I-134 for both the K-1/2.. no photocopies or anything

YMMV

As it turned out, that is what happened for us. And for several others I talked to. But the instructions said a separate one for each, of course the instructions also said the tax retyrns had to be notarized...oh well.

HCM consulate instructions also say one original, and photocopies for each additional applicant.

Sounds like the safest bet is an original for each, and just let the consulate sort out what they want. I'm gonna photocopy the tax transcripts and letter of employment, though.

Be that as it "may", I brought two originals, silly me. We walked out with two no-questions-asked visas and some extra paper...oh well, I took it back home with me.

Question, as I see it if its fiance & child just double everything to be safe, But do you get all your documents back (e.g. employment letter, bank statements, etc.) or do they make copies first?

Thanks

You come prepared with copies... do not let them keep any original

So did we Gary, so for Kiev, a no question interview ain't that special....

The bold above may or may not be true. However, Manila is not one of those posts. You would be wise to follow the instructions and provide separate original affidavits for each intending immigrant with that immigrant's name as being sponsored. Manila is probably the pickyest post when it comes to public charge issues for K visa applicants.

Even with regard to Kiev, I would advise the same. The officer may not even ask for an affidavit at all but I would hate for any delay to be caused by failing to provide such a simple document with some more copies of the supporting information.

Ah, I see the ball is back in my court! So you suggest the OP copy the I-134 AFTER he signs the orignal rather than sign the forms AFTER he copies them, thereby saving ink from his pen? Reducing global warming and rescuing us from the dreaded fear of climate change (somehow, I do not know how).

Pay, this is a bit silly. I brought an original for each person, you brought a copy for the additional people. We both had no questions asked interviews (so clearly the signature or copy was not the factor deciding that) and what? Is it somehow bad advice to print the I-134 FIRST and THEN sign it? Where did I lead the OP wrong? Where have I given him advice which will lead him astray? Besides all of that nonsense, the form itself is filled out differently for each person. Though clearly in your case they accepted a copy of your fiancees I-134, the answers could not be possibly correct for each person. I played it safe and filled out a new form for each person (and for the K-2 to follow we definitely needed a new one). Both you and I have samples of I-134 for fiancees with children, yes? Or so you have stated, and I know I do. So why would you have samples of something you just made a copy of the original of?

I think my advice to use a separate I-134 and copy it BEFORE signing is valid and prudent. Since the OP is using the Kiev consulate, as we did, there is a strong possibility the consulate will hand him back the second I-134. I doubt it it will dampen his celebration that night that he now has a few extra pieces of paper to carry home. I remember having a pretty good time that night and not thinking much about "dammit, I brought too much paper" I am trying to imagine the OP celebrating on Kreshatik Street that night and cursing me for telling him to bring an extra, original, I -134.

Ummm.... As pushbrk pointed out, the OP's fiancee is in the Philippines, so she'll be going to Manila. A trip all the way to Kreshatik Street might dampen his mood for celebration a bit.
