just reading the checklist on what is required for NOA2, I was wondering if they will need my fiancee's birth certificate at any point during the process?

I am preparing my next set of papers too (though I am still waiting for the NOA2...)

From what I can see, you don't need your fiancee's birth certificate, however I am going to send my certificate and my fiance's just to be on the safe side. They don't say NOT to send it, and I am trying to be really thorough

You NOA2 is the approval of your visa application stateside. Once it is approved, it will be to your respective embassy for further processing. This is the point at which your fiancee's birth certificate will become important. She will take it to the interview at the embassy along with all the other paperwork that she will have received.

Read the guides, they are very detailed and will give you all the information that you need.

If you do not have the time to read the guides (well....let's not go there)

consider this easy primer:

IF there is a chance it could be an important piece of documentation, THEN the government IS going to ask for it.

Maybe not today but certainly by the time of interview.

Delay obtaining them means the same agravation + time pressure. Therefore get all documents ASAP.

There will be plenty of other stress, the documets is relatively easy.
