Getting PCC

Hi,

IV fee is been paid and I am waiting for the PAID status. I the mean time, my wife is trying to get the Regional (Passport PCC) and Local (District PCC).

Does she need to add my name (Spouse's name) in her passport, in order to get either one of the PCC?

Also, is Passport PCC needed in order to get District PCC?

No, the passport PCC is not needed to get local PCC. But I am not sure that your name needs to be added to your wifes passport.

I had my wife change her name to include my name when she got her passport, but if she already has a passport then I think you should be fine. To get District PCC the Passport PCC is not required but I know for Ahmadabad you need District PCC to get Passport PCC and they want originals. You can send photocopy of District PCC to NVC and indicate that originals will be provided at time of interview.

No, the passport office in Surat is denying to give the Passport PCC. They told my wife to change her name to include my name in order to get Passport PCC.

About getting District PCC, they have changed the law since past couple of months and what they are saying is that they don't give district PCC's any more.

I don't know if there is anything in writing about this law. They told my wife that the law has changed for the past couple of months. I don't think there is any article about this online yet since Indian government is really slow or behind with these kind of important things.

Well, they obviously got some sort of notification that the law was changed, it can't just be on heresay alone. Ask them to provide you the proof if they refuse to do it. Or find someone who knows someone who can find out for you. An attorney would not be a bad place to start either.
