I will give this word of advice

A Philippine trained nurse is considered an asset in USA, they are thought of as hard worker and make great nurses.

My wife passed her NCLEX in March '09, and started working in May '09. She had no work experience in USA or PI.

She has been working about 5 months, and is pulling in close to $90,000 per year with shift differntials and overtime.

It has been a blessing for us her working as RN in USA.

Wow! With your wife's income, that means that you can enter every bass fishin' tournament and it wouldn't matter if you are skunked everytime, would it?

I let my wife pay all the household bills, and I have not had to worry about working. I am letting her bring in the income.

I have decided to take a break from work for a little while

do you really need to have an experience as a nurse in the PI before you can apply for a job here in the US??

And also any agencies that y'all guys can refer for my sister to apply for a nurse post here in the US??

Im a new graduate from philippines.. bacth 2008.. i have zero experience.. just focused on my NCLEX-RN.. now i work as RN in a hospital full time n part time in a nursing rehabilitation.. they will train you if you have no experience... (its hard at first but you will get used to it) and different institution have different requirements... but the most basic they need is the CPR/ BLS for healthcare provider given by the AMERICAN heart association or American red cross..

She eyeing for a nurse position in Texas, Can she apply directly to the hospitals there?? You think she can have a good chance of getting a post there??

Can we do (my other sister and I) anything to help her??

I really appreciate all this info guys.. Thank You very much!!!

Why would a hospital petition your sister? There are many nurses in USA that are out of work at the moment.

Forgein Trained nurses are under retrogression, and no Visa are available.

The best thing you can do for your sister is to find a suitor in USA and have him petitioner her via K1 Visa.

Have her go to Canada

They are still pretty easy to get a Visa to work there as a Nurse

And in a few years when her time counts down, and she gets a chance to work in USA, She can blow Canada off like a bad habit
