I was starting to get desperate too! Our case was transferred twice, because I had to repeat my biometrics. Have you had any touches lately? We had a few touches a week before our welcoming letter arrived.

I know how upsetting it is to be waiting and see others get approved, but I'm sure you will be receiving news soon! You can also try to give them call, they will tell you that you are within the "normal processing times" or will tell you the same that is displayed on the USCIS website status when you log on, but it wont hurt asking if everything is fine or if there are any updates if you can talk to real person.

April 17,2009,case got filed

May 12 , case transfered to CSC

June 13 biometrics taken

August 21 got work permit

right now nothing else happened, except there was an updated date on July 28.

can anyone tell me what's going on with my case?

We applied for the AOS in December 08. Our case was transferred to CSC. Finally in July of 09 they requested another physical. When I questioned why it was necessary because my wife just had the physical in Manila at the end of August 08, they just said to either comply with the RFE or they would drop the case. We had the physical exam repeated by a civil surgeon and replied as requested on Aug. 20, 2008. On Aug. 28, 2009 we received another RFE. This time requesting evidence that my wife has no criminal record for the past 5 years. Rather confusing as we had to provide that information for the K1 and she has only been here since October 08. Anyway I guess we will send the original evidence and a statement from a local law enforcement agency and hope that it will satisfy their requirement. By the way, the reason for the police report is supposedly because even though we made 2 trips to a Homeland Security office for biometrics, they say her fingerprints are illegible.

I guess patience is a virtue.

If there has been a touch, it either means that your case is being processed or they may be sending an RFE. Sure hope it is just processing!

Good Luck!

It could be still in processing such as the FBI name check. Six months seems to be the average for receiving the green card, but each person's green card timeline is unique.
