As some of you may already know, I was the victim of an ID theft and was stopped upon re-entering the US last saturday from visiting my soon to be wife. I am assuming that since my name is now tied to this criminals file, he used my name as an alias when he was caught for other crimes, that I will fall into security check hell. US customs and border security were really cool and helpful about the whole situation especially when I explained about the k-1 visa. What is really scary, they told me the dates of my last eight trips to Korea and they also knew about my petition. They said they pulled all the data in less than 30 minutes prior to my arrival at the airport.

At this point both my fiance and I are both depressed and having difficulties focusing on anything else with all the anxiety and waiting. Even though I go to see her every two months it is usually only for a week at time, but it is killing my finance's and hurting my work. I try to stay busy by working long hours and focusing on my children from a previous marriage. However, I can not sleep missing my honey.

Then once I fall asleep, I can not wake up for anything and struggle through the day. Checking the USCIS website, VJ and talking with friends looking for something positive to hang onto. I do not know how some others have lasted so long without going insane. I am beginning to think medication maybe the only cure....

I faxed the privacy release and Congressional Request for Inquiry to USCIS. I included a three page letter explaining the situation and asking if they can clarify the issue so I don't fall into a black hole. I doubt they can do much but inquire, but it doesn't hurt to ask and maybe the squeky wheel will get greased.

I (and many others) are in the same boat as you with the wait that CSC has imposed on us. We are all feeling the stress and anxiety from these unpardonable delays. All I can do is tell you to hang in there and stay the course. You are not alone in this.

I do have a question though. You said you forwarded the congressional inquiry to the USCIS? What is exactly is that? I have paperwork that I sent to my congressman that includes a privacy release and a request for inquiry but that had to go back to my congressman so they could look into the issue. What was it you sent to USCIS?

Oh and since the immigration officials had all the info in the computer I would assume that your id theft issue should be a non player in your K-1 approval.

Thanks for your support. Without all the VJ's life would be really though. I will never quit no matter how long it takes.

To clarify, I sent back to my congressman. I am sorry my writing was so disjointed. A little weary at this point after a 14 hour day at work.

It is the same form you probably sent back to your congressman. Did you have any luck with any information from your representative?

Thanks again. I will be happy if I get her by christmas, I very nice christmas present!!!

I havent heard back yet. I sent it in 2 weeks ago and they have told me they are looking into it. Since I was asking for information on specific procedures involving CSC (i.e. explanation of long delays and why they havent complied with directives to speed things up) I dont expect an imediate response. Just trying to draw attention to the plight of all of us at CSC.

I was hoping that my congressmans inquiry would do the same. Let them know they are being watched and their customer services STINKS.

Thanks for the insight on the computer info. They said the same thing to me. But with CSC I guess I am assuming the worst thinking they request physical files or something. Maybe I am a little paranoid at this point.

I hope you get your NOA2 this week or soon after. If they keep the processing commitments in the notices that will be the question.

I agree, if everyone inquired through their elected officials, then maybe they might feel some pressure and accountability. All the congressional office aides will start talking about their workload increasing due to inept ability of the processing being performed at CSC.

Lets hope they will get it together though.

I am sorry neither of you can sleep either, it really is not healthy and intensifies all the anxeity.

Good Luck to you Dwar49, thanks for the good words and insight, very helpful.
