Hello,

First of all I must say that this website is awesome. I love the fact that people share their experiences so we can all get more educated on the process.

Regarding my question...I am wondering if anyone can shed some light on how much time it took them to get their interview after filing the I-129F application. I have a friend who recently got the NOA2 after 5 months of waiting and now the letter she received indicates another 4-6 months to get an inteview...that seems a little longer....can someone provide some time line.

Thanks!

Go to Immigration Timelines (menu above)

Visa Display Options (lower left)

View K-1 (or whatever) visas => advanced view

Scroll to the right and you'll find the number of days

for the wait indicated between the two events that you want to check.

Hint: you can HIDE any number of fields in between the NOA2 and that field.

You'll also probably want to hide the 2 RFE fields.

Bonus: You can Sort by the numbers in the fields to see the longest & shortest

waits by clicking on the triangles in the field titles.

Field: Column heading

That way you can do your own homework & modify it as you go along.

The 4-5 months from filing to embassy is pretty static, meaning it floats around that time for most petitions.

The visa interviews and approvals on the other hand are very much spread from here to there...it really just depends on the embassy you are working with, from what I read it seems Canada does usually have a long period of time between petition approval and interview date. The Philippines on the other hand generally get you in within about 45 days or so from petition approval.

Good Luck
