if you indicate a 1 month stay, chances are that is exactly what will be granted to you upon arrival. A single entry visa from the consulate and the CBP border guard will give you a 30 day authorized stay.

You probably will most likely get a 1 month visa. If that is the case go to US and stay for about 3 weeks or less and then come home. After you are back home for 6 months reapply for again. The very first visa is used as a test to see if you will come back home. When you reapply you will most definitely get the a 10 year multiple. In my country thats how most people do it to get a multiple entry (10 year visa). You should be fine.

ok ... the story again is ...

i am syrian ... and the us visa is like a dream for me when i am single 23 year old syrian ... but i tryed to get it ...

and they did give it to me .... i will take my passport from the embassy after 24 hour

but ,... i write in the application i want to stay 1 month in usa ... i thought that would help and give me more chances to get the visa

but i want to stay more than 1 month

so ... i am afraid that they will give me 1 month visa :(

so i am asking if there is such a thing or not ...

"Shortening" length of intended stay in your visa application is technically visa fraud... but this is very common among visa applicants. When you get your passport you will either get a single entry or multiple entry visa depending on your proof of ties to syria. If you get a single entry visa, you will most likely have 1-3 months to use it, meaning it will expire in 1-3 months so u have to go to US before it expires. If you get a multiple visa, expiry will range from maybe 2-10 years... meaning you can use it as many times as the law allows you. When you get to the US, the immigration officer will then decide on how long he will allow you to stay in the US. They will ask you how long you intend stay, normally they give up to 6 months. Since you indicated on your visa application that you intend to stay for a month, there is a possibility that the US embassy in syria will put an "annotation" on your US visa that you only intend to stay for 1 month... which will make your chances of getting a 6 months stamp in the US almost impossible.
