Dear all,

Is there anyone in here who married with LPR? Maybe we can share stories regarding the process to join with our spouse in USA.

Thanks,

Sisca :)

More of a topic for the Bringing Family Members of Permanent Residents to America section of this board. For those of us that are here, it's history, and with the delays of the USCIS, make that ancient history.

It will take a while, I'm sorry.

Spouse of permanent resident falls into category 2A. According to chart after point 5, they are now processing 2A cases which was submitted on 15 April 2005. If you just submit the I-130 IR1 application, it will be processed in approximately 4 years.

It is much better if your husband can apply for naturalization ASAP, then it will only take 8 months, or even less to bring you here.

Hope it helps. You can PM me with any questions. Best Regards.

How far away is your spouce from being a USC? If he is 3 - 4 years away, then you would have te same waiting time as a LPR (4 - 5) years. Time will go by quickly tho.
