I checked out that site and it looks to me it is for non-immigrant visas only. A K visa is an immigrant visa. Maybe I am not seeing something? I clicked on a few embassies and saw nothing for K visas. Oh well, at some embassies I am sure the wait is no different.

Chuckles, you are correct. The wait time is for non-immigrant visas like B1/B2. Although K is a non-immigrant visa, it is processed by the embassy's Immigrant Visa Unit hence it does not follow the wait time for non-immigrant visa.

Average wait time from NOA2 to interview at Manila Embassy is now down to 4 months. However, one lucky gal got an interview date less than 3 months from her NOA2. Click the link below for Manila thread:

That is the correct link that can get you information on the processing time line. The K1 Visa is considered Non Immigrant visa. The non immigrant portion being a foreigner who is given temporary 90 day entrance to the US in which to legally marry and then they adjust status and fill for immigration.

A k-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa. In south korea it is processed like an A or G visa which is only around 10 -11 days. I would assume that is once they receive the packet 3 or is it Packet 4 back. Packet 4 do you just bring to the interview.

Humm... this is what I see

"*** The All Other Nonimmigrant Visa wait time DOES NOT include K or V visa applications, which are processed similar to immigrant visas. A and G applications are excluded from these wait times, as they are processed separately."

So while technically you may be right, I still do not see that site being the most accurate way to try and figure out when your interview will be. As it was pointed out, in reality it is taking 4 months at the Manila embassy based on real world experience.

That is ok though. If people wish to use this reference, by all means, do.

You see it how I see it. Reading the small print and the asterisks...looks like the Ks are nonimmigrant visas processed like immigrant visas, thus immigrant wait times. Translation...it takes longer.

That's the thing. It shows the wait times for nonimmigrant visas. I know Ks aren, but they're processed as if they were. To get to see the wait times for K1s, you'd have to check the consulate website - *if* they disclose such information. In Rio, they put a list up showing which are the interview dates for cases each month, but they won't tell how long one would wait. It's all guessing based on other people's experiences.

I saw a link for currenta applications they're processing, and when it'll be done. It was for Manila though, I can't remember who posted it, but I don't think all consulates do that.
