Hello Everyone.

I'm just doing some post Visa planning here. Don't have the pink YET. Does anyone know if there are any travel restrictions to the beneficiary after the CR-1 Visa is added to the passport? I'm in the Philippines now, and We were thinking about a short pleasure trip in Asia after we get her Passport back from the embassy. My 59 day Philippines visa will expire before we get her US Visa delivery so I either have to do a border run or go to Local Bureau of Immigration office to get my Visa extended.

Hi Qiix.

Your wife can travel to most Asian countries without a visa. Her having a CR1 visa doesn't affect her ability to travel to Asian countries.

My husband paid under Php 6,000 to get +30 days. You may want to avoid any A(H1N1) affected countries if you do a border run.

if you really want to do that pleasure trip you're really safer to extend your visa (some asian airports check tourist's travel plans for one reason or another) it's also easier to show a properly extended visa than verbally explain your situation to a non-english speaking person.

she can travel after getting her CR1 visa and restrictions will depend on where you plan to go. japan and korea for instance require a visa, while singapore, thailand and hongkong do not (for short trips)
