Probably because Moore's objections are (and have always been) related to corporate greed, rather than against capitalist philosophy.

Then why does he come to the conclusion that "capitalism is evil"?

A more fitting title would've been "Corporatocracy: A Government/Corporation Love Story, eh?

Matt you really need to travel more. Go live and work in Europe, Canada and Australia for a few years. Then come back and tell me you still believe government is the bad guy.

It's almost as if you have sample of 3 sources of data and have made up your mind based on this limited sample.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

First, as rudimentary as it seems, it must be noted that wages are merely the price paid for labor. It's no different than the price paid for any product in an economy. So, if we are talking about price disparities, and using mathematical calculations to illustrate such disparities, why not apply this same lense to another price disparity: automobiles.

Now I see your issue. You confuse and blur humans for a commodity. For something that should be bought solved or even exploited. Matt, humans are not aluminum or iron ore, they’re people. That rationale is what justified slavery in the past. As a society we have moved on from that, particularly places like Europe, Canada or Australia. The quality of like for the average Joe there speaks for itself.

Furthermore, what you are basically condoning is survival of the fittest. A system where one person gets to the top and then exploits everyone else bellow them. How does the latter example in the video not make sense to you? To various degrees, such business practices are currently deployed in a variety of organizations and the results speaks for themselves. EG Google, apple, Amazon etc.

I never said that humans are commodities. I said that labor is a commodity.

Do you really contest this?

In an economic sense, yes, survival of the fittest. The best product/service for the best price is what survives in a market.

A system where one person gets to the top and then exploits everyone else bellow them.

You're implying that the CEO of a company has power over his labor force. As if he holds a mighty sword, and the workers are enslaved to him.

Is that really the case?

Do the poor workers have no recourse?

Of course they do... They freely sell their labor to the company, and can freely cease to do so at anytime, and sell to some other company.

That's what capitalism is all about--Freedom.
