I should be sleeping now since besides getting up for sahoor and the fajr prayer in a few short hours, I know Tariq will probably be up at the crack of dawn to talk about something "very" important  You know, like bats?! God, how I love that kid :luv: Drives me crazy but I love him to pieces.

Anyhow, have a great Sunday everyone.

Happy Sunday, MENA.

It's my first day of joblessness (self-inflicted). We're having a huge Iftar soiree here tonight. Happy, happy, joy, joy. Don't get me wrong because these folks, friends and family, are nice enough, but I would rather chew on glass than live through even a few more hours of all eyes locked on "the American," endless pictures and mobile videos of and with "the American," as well as constant discussion about "the American." I know people are people and they don't mean anything harmful but, gosh darn it, I don't do well as the center of attention.

I'm trying to sort and pack, too. The hubster's heart-broken and sulking. Me? Notsomuch. In fact, I'm almost ashamed that I'm filled with such ... joy at the thought of getting out of here and back "home," where all I really want is some normal - specifically to blend in. My head isn't stuck on visa, marriage, separation, or any of that. It's stuck on the wheels of the plane lifting up and taking me out of here. I think that's bad. Is that bad? I feel bad.

I'm sure I missed it somewhere, but are you just going to the States for a short visit or you will be staying there?

Hope it goes well for you tonight!

Happy Sunday all. :star:

Good Morning 100%AAF,IHQ& Melly!

It's been so hectic here. I didn't get in from grocery shopping last night til around 9pm and I was just completely exhausted. I wanted to start some of the prepping of the foods but instead right after the groceries were put away, i went off to bed. I have my son making the oreo pie and i guess he added too many oreo pieces and made the pie a little darker than what it should be so that means the world has just came to an end  He wants to go back to the store and get another one. I don't think so. He is so detailed in everything he does.

IHQ, you heading back to the states?that is what it sounds like from here. When are you leaving and how long will you been staying?

Oh, ask me today and it will be forever. Ask me in six months and you might get a different answer.

My husband had his interview a month ago (did NOT go well), the RFEs have been asked and answered, so what's left is domicile and, for me, to get off of this crazy train.

Which brings me to this. I sent this PM to one of my VJ friends (I know, shame, shame) and, the bad wife (BW) that she is, she didn't come through for me nearly as much as I hoped she would. Maybe the MENA girls can help me figure out these bigger life decisions:

Is a red, white, and blue outfit too much, considering I'm planning to spend the 2 1/2 hour train ride (barring the usual break downs and/or collisions with donkey carts, of course) from Alexandria to Cairo painting American flags on my cheeks, or is the face-paint enough?

Should I use a glue stick, a glue gun, or staples to affix the "Detroit or Bust" sign I've made to the back of my blouse?

Is cartwheeling down the aisle of the plane to my seat too much, or should I tone it down a little and just gallup? Perhaps I should skip?

If cartwheeling is out, how much baksheesh (payola) should I give the security guy and baweb (doorman) at the school to not notice that I cut flowers for the sole purpose of having a multitude of pedals to cast upon the plane's aisle in front of me as I skip/gallup? Seeing these guys get by on a whopping 200 LE a month, is a fiver too little? Should I throw them each a tenner?

BW (aka VJ friend) did give some constructive feedback: Yes on the cartwheels, and tossed in blaring Neil Diamond's "America" - a nice touch for background music, I must admit - as I go.

Anybody else have anything to offer? Is it that obvious I'm so ready to GO?

Sounds like you are ready and been ready for a long time now if i may add. It appears as if you are being released from prison...lol (jk, please don't take it personal) I was always teary eyed on my way to the airport leaving my SO's country but who knows if i was there for a long period of time maybe I would have left skid marks from his place to the airport, just dont know, cause i haven't walked in your shoes.

It's not bad and you shouldn't feel bad. :D You feel exactly how you're supposed to feel because you're being genuine to you. I'll admit that when I left my husband behind in Egypt many moons ago, I wasn't focused on him, I was focused on the chicken sandwich I was gonna eat at the McDonalds in Frankfurt. I wanted "normal" food, dammit! Sure I cried a bit and I did miss him after I got back home and out of my travel haze but damn that chicken sandwich was delicious!

I apologize for not having more suggestions the other day for your celebration...I had one foot out the door and a co-worker yappin' at me. Can you get your hands on some sparklers? Maybe wave those whilst cartwheeling wearing your patriotic outfit with the Detroit or bust sign on your back? I think that would be quite a spectacle. OH and you have to either have accompanying music or perhaps tip the bawab a little extra to come sing for you? The Uncle Cracker song sounds good but my fave is cheezy ol Neil and his classic, "America".

Happy Sunday, MENA.

Morning everyone. I just wish I could breathe through my nose. My central air decided to go out last night and I had to sleep with the windows up. It's ragweed season here in Kentucky. Fun fun. Anyway, I am hoping it's something simple. Not really that excited about shelling out several thousand for a new system :(

The haircut went great. The ladies always comment on how he is the best lil boy haircut they have ever done. He sits there and giggles from the clippers buzzing on his neck :) He is walking around the living room now putting the ear thermometer in his ears trying to take his temp lol. The kid catches on way too quick. I feel so bad for him being sick, I drug myself with tylenol cold when i dont feel good but there really isnt much I can give him. He doesnt have a fever or anything, I may give him a lil benadryl to ease the sneezing and congestion.

Jax, thanks for asking, my new branch is AMAZING!! The previous manager was good, operation wise they pass all their audits, customer service is good, however, they never hit sales goals. TCF is allll about sales, and this branch hasnt hit their checking or savings goals in a looong time. Currently we should be at 15% to our checking and savings goal and we are 28% of checking and 19% of savings so were doing a GREAT job. Commision isnt an option for me, I have always had a commision check in 3 years with TCF so I refuse to not hit sales. Im really looking forward to being there. I have a good feeling its going to be great. Hopefully I can be one of the top 20 managers and go to Hawaii next spring (TCF takes top 20 managers on 2 trips a year paid!)

woot woot!

Good morning wonderful ladies!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
