Hi guys! Does anyone of you have an idea if the affidavit of support documents is still being requested by NVC? My fiance (petitioner) received 2 letters from NVC (1 for the approval notice and the other one stating that petition will be forwarded to the embasse where beneficiary lives) but both letters did not ask for the affidavit of support documents. What do you think will be the best thing to do? Thanks for the help in advance.

There never has been anything required for K1 petitions at NVC. The I-134 [affidavit of support] is required at the USEM interview.

Thanks for your quick reply. So what does my fiance have to do then? Just send me the needed docs and I'll be the one to present it in the embassy?

He sends you the signed original I-134 plus his most recent tax return or tax transcript. Tax transcripts are better. He can get 2008 for free by calling 800 829 1040.

Takes about 5 days to get them in the mail. Have him send a updated Letter of intend to marry also.

And oo you take all the documents to USEM when you have your interview.

Do your St. Lukes Medical as soon as you can naman.

Sorry, but I'm not really familiar on how to make the timeline  Anyway, I have indicated what type of visa was filed for me. Alright, so now i'm clear with the AOS docs. Since my fiance sent me the NOA2 and NVC letter already, can I just go ahead with my medical exam without the interview appointment letter? I want to have my medical doen ASAP because I have a TB history and has a scar in my lungs so I will surely undergo sputum culture which takes 2 mos. if negative.

Yep you can get in with the NOA2 and MNL number. Make copy of your passport as St. Lukes will take it and you won't it back until after the embassy interview.

No need interv iew appointment letter.

Take 4 2x2 US pictures, 2 ballpen, lose fitting clothes. Go Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Probably with your TB history go Monday.

Go about 1 in the afternoon.

Take water and snacks. Cellphiones are allowed. Know your POE.

There should be no excuse for not filling in your timeline if you ask for and expect to get help.

All you have to do to start is fill in your complete email address that you log into VJ with.

On the Timeline entry page, fill in the dates (according to the template model) and other data as required.

For your first names you can use an initial if you don't want to put your exact names.

On your first entry, don't forget to put the country, visa type, service center and Embassy city.

You can do this even if you haven't taken the first step (sending in your initial application/petition) yet.

Go to the BOTTOM of the form, click Submit Changes.

If you get an NOA actions, put the date that you find on the certificate you received,* not the date you received the certificate,

because that's the date when the servicing agency took action on your case. If anyone with more experience wants to correct me

or elaborate, please do.

Prompt & accurate timeline entries help current and future VJers evaluate their own progress.

*That's the I-797C form for NOA1 and NOA2 - there is a received date and a notice date. The notice date is what you put on your timeline.

The Receipt Number (upper left hand corner) is used on the USCIS site to track your progress literally as it happens

(enter that on the status page https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/caseStatusSearch.do with NO hyphens).

For even more immediate notification, AFTER you log in with your case number, you can select email notification.
