Tayrivers will probably give you a more complete answer after the weekend but I will try to help.

I believe the RFE is for missing information from your application at various stages. Such as missing birth certificates, police checks and so on.

Some people who have petitioned for step parents have omitted to included certificates of divorce and also original marrage certificates.

Not reading all that fine print in the instructions, but for my wife's N-400 interview, learned that it would be good to bring in a joint utility bill that happened to a friend of hers. Her process was delayed for a very long time. Was prepared and my wife was hit with that, but would almost like to take her IO to court since the instructions never mentioned that form of extremely weak evidence, hell I could call and tell them Laura Bush is my wife, what in the hell do they care. Ended up calling our electric company, only utility that has a office in town, phone, cable, and natural gas were all taken over by big corporations where you have to call an 800 number and can spend a half a day being shifted around and get nowhere. But my wife's IO was shocked when wife handed that bill to her with both of our names on it.

It's a game, and you have to be one move ahead.

You will never get an RFE for the I-130 from NVC ... so there are not any common problems to list.

Yeah, but you got to send some stuff to the USCIS with your I-130, a big fat check is at least one of them, then you have to provide evidence that you are somehow related to the victim, er, the potential immigrant. I gather the NVC also requires proof that you can provide for the potential immigrant just like the USCIS. Not easy to do after you pay all the fees and taxes.

i got RFE on my mom's I-130 @ CSC..it was her name being slightly different from my BC (mrs.xxx), MC(mrs.xx) and the I-130 form(mrs.xx).It's been approved after 5 days of waiting.
