marriage with permanent resident

Dear friends,

I'm wondering if there's anyone married with Permanent Resident.

My husband applied for I-130 and received by California USCIS on 8 March 2006. And August 2009, I-130 was approved. Few days ago I received a letter from NVC informed that my case # already changed from WAC.... to JAK....

It only said that I just wait, visa numbers are not presently available for my use because this delay is that there are more applications for visas than there are immigrant visa numbers available under the limitations prescribed by law. I will be notified when further consideration can be given to processing my applications for immigration.

My questions are what is the meaning of that letter? what is next step after I received that letter?

Thanks in advance your your help.

Cheers,

Sisca

There are only a certain amount of Visa's given out each year under certain conditions. I would call the USCIS and check on your case or go to one of the immigration offices so they can better explain it to you, but from the sound of what you said the only thing you can do is wait.

Available visa numbers are on a quota system... once they meet the annual limit then everything goes on hold until the new allotment becomes available...

YMMV
