Hi everyone,

I've been reading through the threads here, and I haven't found the answer to my question. I apologize if you've answered this before.

I'm in Montreal, my USC spouse is my petitioner. I'd like to file the DS3032 electronically, but when I attempt to fill in the form, or save it, I get a message "You can only save a blank form, all data will be discarded."

Obviously, many of you have been sending your form by email. So what's the magic technique? Do I have to print it out, sign, scan and save as a pdf to email it to NVC, or is there an easier way?

Also to confirm:

Is a signature necessary, or it's ok to email it without the signature at the bottom?

Is it correct that email processing of this form is currently taking abt 20 days?

Thanks!!

For e-mail filing of DS-3032 you don't need barcode neither a signature.

Go here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form

Copy the template and paste it into the compose box in your e-mail. Then overwrite only what is necessary. No saving as Word or PDF file.

It's ok to send without signature.

Ours took 2 weeks, for some ppl it takes only a week, for others - 3 weeks. If you could send a hard copy, would arrive faster... good luck with the rest of the process

Hi, I just wanted to add an update:

I originally copy pasted the template from the link above and sent it to NVC. I got a reply from them stating that all documents requested from them have to be scanned copies of the originals.

So I'm not sure if their process has changed, but that's what I ended up doing.

Unfortunately, since you are doing electronic processing - the shortcuts won't work for you. You have literally scan EVERY single thing to send to NVC and save it into PDF.

Welcome to NVC Electronic Processing !

There's loads of technical considerations for ya -

have a read ?

Post here if you get stuck...

Remember - you have to successfully OPT IN - recently that's been a PITA and confusing, as tele-operators at NVC are clueless and need your personal coaching.

FWIW - this is WRONG info -

the email template isn't acceptable for NVC Electronic Processing.

Ya gotta use the proper DS-3032, and it needs to be SIGNED by the beneficiary.

It's a double pass bit of 'fill out, print, SIGN , rescan, covert to pdf'.

For some, this is a PITA.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

for NVC ELECTRONIC PROCESSING this is normal. EVERYTHING gets scanned by the petitioner.

Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie here and this is my first post.

After my wife was denied a K3 Visa petition in May this year, I actually had filed for the IR-1/CR-1 and wanted to get it changed, but the Guangzhou consulate did not act on it or acknowlege it. They proceeded to process the K3. Anyway, the NVC already had my fee and give me a case number for the Immigrant visa, so now that the K3 is dead, we can put that behind us.

I found out about electronic filing (Thank you Mike and Yan!!!). I filled out the DS-3032 then printed it out. I signed and dated it, and found another letter I received earlier from NVC with the case number and barcode. I printed it, cut the barcode and taped it to the DS-3032, scanned and sent it to NVC. Hope that works. I also named the file "DS-3032 - (case number)" so they would know my case number with that file name.

I guess they will reply later and ask that all the documents in .pdf format be emailed. Fortunatly, I have been scanning every single page of documentation involved with this case to .pdf format already.

This is a great site, and lot's of good information and helpful people! I need the moral support to get through the agony of all this. :)

Hey Mike -

Have a read?

If you are trying to OPT IN - then the DS-3032 has to be signed by the foreign spouse, and sent to NVCGuangshou@state.gov , along with the biodata in the body of the email, AND (GASP ) the PROPER SUBJECT LINE . There's an email scanning system in place at that email address - so if 'OPTIN' is NOT in the first 5 characters of the subject line, a human will catch it 5 or 10 days later.

Then ya wait. bug NVC about 7 to 10 days later, via telephone, about shifting to NVC Electronic Processing. The NVC Tele-Operators are brain-dead - trained to listen for 'DS-3032' and know NOTHING about the electronic processing system (but they are totally coachable, if you know what to say to them ) .

If you get any emails about paying stuff ONLINE, note it'll get paid on the GUZ casefile number - but don't sweat it - the contractors at NVC will rehome the data / fees from the GUZ casefile to the newly created GZO casefile.
