on the support document it says if you did not become a citizen of the usa by they ways that they gave u the choices that u have to attach how..

ok i was adopted from Guatemala........when i filled out the original paper work for the k1 petition it asked for other names used...i put none reason being i had never really looked at my adoption decree i was simply no interested in it........i just copied my complete passport to show my citizenship

now i see i came to the usa as ana lucia and when adopted my parents again after reaching the usa they

had my name changed........sometime when i was like 13 or something a law was passed that made adopted children from other countries automatic citizens all u had to do was show u adopted the child again once they came into the usa

so if i attach a copy of my adoption decree and the law making me a citizen, how much trouble will i be in for not given the ana luca name that i came to the states on?

should i write something or what

Sara, I don't really know how to answer your question. But a few weeks ago I saw a question like yours on Yahoo! Answers. I didn't really pay attention to it since, well, it doesn't apply to me. I tried looking for it now and I couldn't find it. Hope you have better luck.

I don't doubt that there may be some good content on Yahoo! answers,

but for peace of mind, call the USCIS:

Contact Us

If you have a question about immigration procedures, or need clarification, call our National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at:

1-800-375-5283 (TTY 1-800-767-1833)

I called them about the personal history form and I got to talk with a live person with minimum time on hold.

I believe they record the call for "service" purposes so if they tell you something different down the road, you'll have a backup.

Since you weren't trying to commit fraud and your name was changed when you were an infant, I don't think there will be a problem.

Just call them to be sure how to sort out the paperwork.
