My fiancee has two daughters. One is 7 and the other 17. Someone on this website told me that it is important that I not only have photos of me and my fiancee together (we have many), but its also very important to have photos of me and her kids. I have never met them. The person who told me this had her interview at the US embassy in Manila. My fiancee will also go for her interview at the US embassy in Manila. Is she going to have a problem at her interview because she can only show photos of her and myself together and not photos of me with her kids?

There won't be any problem if her kids are not on the same petition. It would be best to have pictures of you and her kids together if you are petitioning also the kids... If not, no need to worry! She just have to prove that your relationship with her is genuine!

Goodluck on your journey!

When I petition for her I also want to petition for her kids. So, even though she won't have photos of me and the kids to show at the interview all she needs to do is prove our relationship is genuine and there shouldn't be a problem getting the two girls their k-2 visas? I don't mean to repeat your answer. I just want to make sure I understand your answer. Thanks.

So you included these kids on the petition?

Do you plan the kids to travel with her or not? I mean follow to join in one year from the issuance of her visa?

I don't think there will be problems. I'm just saying it's best to have pictures of you and the kids together.

It will be easier for the kids to join the mother during the interview, with that, the interview will be focused on your relationship with her.

The youngest will travel with her. The older daughter will come later.

I don't think you will have any problems, but it would be nice to have the photos of the 4 of you together. I haven't heard of any problems with this issue, the 3 years I have been on VJ. Make sure her kids know everything about you and your family. Good luck to you!

My fiancee was denied specifically for lack of pictures with me and her family.

I imagine she doesn't intend on bringing the kids with her?

Would definitely be a BIG negative if you are going to be their stepdad and you never met them!!
