Question about next steps after I-130 approval

Hello everyone, my mom who is a citizen petitioned for my aunt back in 2001 and two days ago the I-130 was approved. Does anyone know how long it would be from this point on to receiving a visa? In one of the emails we got the following:

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status: Case was shipped to the Department of State for visa processing.

Are there more months/years to wait? What status or processing times should we check for? I should add that this case was in Vermont and was transferred to Nebraska a few months back.

thank you

now u need to do NVC and that can take about 2 months depending on the RFE . my wifes NVC process took only about a month to get her interview date, actually the time is different for any one, so good luck with nvc and best wishes, abby n sheryl

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

So basically your mother applied for her sister? If that is the case, I believe it comes under L4.

The visa bulletin basically lists the priority/approval dates that are currently being processed:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin...letin_4558.html

For L4 it says 22Feb99 is currently being processed if I understand this correctly. What is your aunt's priority date?
