Man, I am so close to filing, and so naturally, it's time for me to freak out.

In the assembling checklist provided here on VJ, it says that "attachments should be indexed."

Well, I've labelled all of my evidence thoroughly, and made sure everything is dated. But I don't have indexing tabs. What is the purpose of these, and how would they be organized?

If you've used these please post your methodology. Do you number them, and list them on the cover sheet like a table of contents? Do I sound stressed? hahahhahah.

Well, I think that's my only question. Everything else is looking pretty tight. If you all wouldn't mind giving me advice on this, I'll be able to mail it out extremely soon.

and I think that it's time to start my own timeline here =)

My Hubby put tabs on each section/attachment of our I-130 package which does make if very simple for the adjudicator to find. Just as stated in the guides for tips on assembling. Which are taken straight from the USCIS website. And yes you would index them as a table of contents on the cover sheet. Remember these are tips and not a requirement. Many submit their petition and accompanying documents without tabs or a cover sheet. Whether it assists or not, who knows. But a clear, well put together package sure dont hurt and IMO makes adjudicating a petition less time consuming.

The use of tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. The tabs should be placed on the bottom and not the side for ease in filing.

i simply used 4 manila envelopes to put evidence in. they were labeled

1) petitioners information -g325a, i-129f, letter of intent, my picture

2)beneficaries information- g325a, letter of intent, her picture

3) proof of meeting - plane tickets, hotel reciept

4) proof of relationship - letters, photos together, gifts, ect

maybe i was lucky but i got noa2 in 2 weeks. but no matter how you do it, make sure it is organized so that a complete idoit could find what they were looking for. that was my goal whenj sending in my petition, idiot proof it "-)

I'm ####### -- I tabbed everything.

I had a "heavier" card stock that I used for the divider pages and went to OfficeMax and purchased tabs that you could attach yourself......and I put them on the bottom on the divider pages.

At the interview the man had our original I-129F petition in front of him and he was using the tabs to find what he was looking for. The interview was a breeze......I hope alot of that had to do with how organized everything was. But, like I said, I'm #######

Japple,

'sticky note', overhanging the bottom of the page or section divider, with the subject of the document or divider written on the overhanging portion.

Yeah I did the same thing. Although, the fact that James's (UK) forms were on A4 and mine was on the USA smaller size made some of my tabs disappear behind his long paper :(
