I don't have any annoying coworkers...hmmm...does that mean, I might be the *gasp* annoying one?

But no one can hear me, I have my own office.

It's weird, I worked in an open plan office before and I really miss that. Now I have my own office and it's big too, around 5x5 meters and I feel terribly lonely. I miss having somone to chat to.

I've always wondered about that. I've been working in shared office spaces for the last 10 years...never had an office to myself. I imagine I'd feel a bit left out if I did have my own office.

There's this teacher...OMG she is sooooo loud! Her voice comes through the wall to my room (the room I'm in at the time cos I float) and it's so hard for me to concentrate and for my kids to stay focused. Then there's the music teacher...his room is next to the computer lab where I teach too. Thank the gods for headphones so the kids can block the noise! Oy Vey!

Open plan is entertaining, but can also be annoying. My office is so quiet, I can hear myself breathe. It sucks. But it's nice to talk to my Mom without having 10 people listen.

I shared an office with a colleague for a short time and he used to fart loudly! And then just say: oops. It was so wrong and I could not look at him. Then he decided he wanted to play music all the time, so he played Dutch polka. I could still hear him fart. Plus the Polka. Then I moved offices.

Speaking of farts...Wednesday two other teachers and I were having a SERIOUS conversation about one of our students. Really serious stuff I tell you. Right in the middle of the conversation one teacher stopped us all by saying "y'all excuse me, I just tooted".

Well damn...there went THAT serious conversation!

It's called workplace revenge. This particular person is a very very liberal (politcally) person. So I signed her up for a number of NRA and gun related newsletters.

I happened to find a copy of my boss's resume. I posted it on a bunch of job related web sites and emailed it to dozens of headhunters.

He's still with the company. I wish someone would make him an offer.

I work with someone who insinuates that if you don't join every professional learning group available that you don't care enough about your teaching. It's incredibly annoying. Especially since part of being a good teacher is knowing how to say 'no' to tasks that take away from good teaching.

I also get quickly annoyed by the people who can see you are reading/typing/grading and still hover over you talking incessantly. My planning period is sacred. Leave me alone.

Some people should NEVER wear open toed shoes to work EVER. Mandals are disgusting enough, but when you've got alien feet, it's just nauseating for everyone in the office.

At my school there are several directors. The school is owned by two women jointly but then one of them has a personal secretary (that knows more about the school than anyone else) and the 5 -yes 5- other normal secretaries, plus the accountant which is the daughter of one of the owners. Confused? me too!!

Anyway, everyone things they are the boss!!! The secretaries are soo bloody annoying. I might call because I'm running 5 minutes late and the secretaries will say "Marina, haven't you learned about São Paulo traffic yet?". Arg....** you! It is not your place to tell me about being late. You are not my boss and hahaha I get paid more than you and you can just get over it. Seriously annoying ladies.

And the owners are a bit annoying too. One of them is crazy organized and the other is crazy disorganized!! They do not communicate with each other and if you want to get anything done you have to make sure you tell at least both of them and one or two secretaries or the message might not get passed along.

Wow, talk about an insane hierarchy. That would drive me nuts.

I've had jobs in the past where the secretaries think that they inherit some of the clout from their boss'. They are really annoying. However, in my experiences at least, they can make things very difficult for you
