Hello

I thought Id update that were still waiting for the first notice of action from service centre we send at vermont. We send ours on Aug 19th so it now 2 weeks since Wedesday. Anyone wait longer? what were your waiting times for first NOA. Also my fiance just told me that the cheque was processed last night, so I guess that is a sign.

ours took a little more than a month to receive but then we were caught up in the flood of apps when the fee changed

but i would not worry about it to much unless it has been a month did they cash ur check yet?

Usually you get your NOA1 a couple days after they cash the check.

Good luck!

Also keep in mind that for some reason, everything from USCIS takes a good 4-7 days to show up in the mail... at least here in CO. So they could mail it today, and you may not get it for another week.

It can definitely be any combination of the above. We sent the package 12-20-08, NOA1 date January 14 -09. When we sent in our k1 stuff to USCIS it took almost a month for the NOA1 to be received. The check did not cash until a day or two AFTER he received the NOA1 in the mail. At the time he lived in the boonies so mail took an extra day or two by horse and buggy.... I've never seen anyone else have their check cash AFTER they have already received the NOA1, I thought it was strange after looking at timelines and such, which some people post on their siggys or comments in their timelines and some do not about when the check clears.

I think they say wait about 4 weeks before you contact them to ask. But, as mentioned, since they cashed your cheque, it shouldn't be long now. :) Were you able to get a copy of the cheque from the bank? It will have your receipt # on it, and you can sign up on the USCIS website to get updates there. It's handy, when it works :)
