I need to travel abroad. what should I do?

Hi all,

I would like to visit my home country (Morocco) in the next couple of weeks for a stay of a month or so.

As you can see below in my timeline, I'm still under removing condition process (no 10 years green card yet) I did the finger prints and didn't hear from the immigration since then

Is it ok to travel now? what about the re-entry? what immigration papers should i bring with me to leave/come back to USA?

The first NOA/Notice of Action you received when you send the I-751 was your 1-year extension of your PR/Green Card Status. This (along with your PR/Green Card and Passport) will allow re-entry to the US.

Do you have your NOA1? The one that extends your Pr status for a year? If so, you need only that and a valid passport. Of course your greencard as well - is it expired yet?

My husband traveled to Morocco earlier this year with his expired GC and the NOA1 from the I-751. He had no problems on either side.

What if, during the OP's time in Morocco, the GC is approved and sent to her home? Will they then be asking for the 10-yr GC for reentry, and if so, should somebody bring it to the airport, just in case? Or.. is it the case that even when approved, the NOA extension letter will do just fine for re-entry?

I only have our own experience as an answer to this. My husband's I-751 was approved while he was in Morocco, and the card arrived at our house while we were gone. He was still able to re-enter with the expired GC and NOA1.

We sent ours a little before yours and haven't heard anything yet. It seems like VSC hasn't done much with ROC for a while. I'm just hoping they decide to process a bunch of them soon!
